- Croatia: Exit Highway

- Channel Hop: Both films were produced by The Kushner-Locke Company. The first was released by Republic Pictures, while Confessions of a Trickbaby was released by Full Moon Features (Republic by that point had largely been absorbed into Paramount Pictures and the name and library licensed to what was then Artisan Entertainment). Once the rights reverted for both, Kushner-Locke licensed them to Vinegar Syndrome, a boutique label specializing in exploitation films, for 4K restorations and releases.
- Creator-Driven Successor: Confessions of a Trickbaby was originally intended to be a direct sequel to the first film, but Reese Witherspoon declined to reprise her role, forcing Matthew Bright to rewrite the script. Some remnants of that earlier version remain, including White Girl at one point mentioning she only dates Black guys (a “coal burner,” like Vanessa Lutz).
- Doing It for the Art: Matthew Bright did this as "arts-ploitation".
- Enforced Method Acting: See those cars Reese Witherspoon was trying to pick up? Many of them weren't actors.
- The Foreign Subtitle:
- Brazil: Freeway: No Way Out
- Italy: Freeway: No Exit
- Invisible Advertising: What made the movie flop.
- Playing Against Type: Reese Witherspoon, usually devoted to feel-good comedies, and usually at home in the shoes of bubbly, happy-go-lucky cuties, plays a violent, illiterate, potty-mouth, white trash, teenage delinquent.
- Star-Making Role: For Reese Witherspoon.
