Trivia / Fena: Pirate Princess

Go To

  • Adored by the Network: Toonami put a lot of confidence in this series. It debuted with a one-hour premiere. Afterwards, it led off the block instead of following a proven favorite like My Hero Academia. Not to mention, not only did the series always get to air its full opening, but also its full ending as well. Additionally, it's the only Toonami series to air before their all-night Batman marathons on October 17 and 24, 2021. Finally, it received its own marathon on October 31, 2021 and reruns began airing on November 14, 2021. This makes sense due to the series being co-produced by [adult swim].
  • Anime First: The series is an anime original.
  • Bad Export for You: When the series gets exported to Southeast Asia and was aired on Animax, the English dub was left behind. This is odd for an anime that's co-produced with Crunchyroll and [adult swim].
  • Fake Nationality: Doug Stone and Laura Post voiced Otto and Arya with German accents.
  • Denial of Digital Distribution: The dubbed version becoming unavailable on digital platforms as a result of the rights being vaulted by Crunchyroll.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: While the Japanese version is currently available on Crunchyroll, the English dub was removed from Adult Swim's website in September 2022 as a result of the series being vaulted by Warner Bros Discovery, rendering the dub unavailable.
  • Star-Making Role: Along with her earlier roles as Ingrid and Fischl, the role Fena is this for Brittany Cox, at least in the anime side of things.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Originally, Fena's past was supposed to be unlocked by a heart cam, note  but this was eventually changed and those duties were given to other objects. However, the design for this trinket was repurposed for Fena's necklace.
    • According to Jason DeMarco, Crunchyroll wanted to do a second season, despite director Kazuto Nakazawa intending it to be nothing more than a 12-Episode Anime. Nothing ever came of a proposed season two other than DeMarco hinting at "something down the road" in the future.
