The book series:

  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: None of the mobile games listed on their website are available for download.
  • No Port For You: Mobile apps based on the original book series were made for iOS and iOS only for whatever reason. Though a dedicated fan or a savvy parent could just load up a ROM of the DS game and play it on an emulator.

The cartoon:

  • Adored by the Network: The show was renewed for a second season before the show premiered. That's something. Then, it got renewed for a third season before the second season could air. Sadly, it ended up getting screwed over as mentioned down below.
  • Acting for Two: Ruby Jay voices Rhonda and Wanda, who are twin sisters.
  • Amateur Cast: A majority of the voice cast had never voice acted prior to the show.
  • Children Voicing Children: Nancy, her younger sister, and their friends, are all voiced by child actors.
  • Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: The book based on "Nancy Takes The Case" was credited to Laurie Israel, when the episode was actually written by Matt Hoverman.
  • Creator's Favorite Episode: Series showrunner Krista Tucker said that "Vive La Revolution" is her favorite episode.
  • Dawson Casting: 12-year-old (at the time of the show's premiere) Mia Sinclair Jenness as the 6-7 year old titular protagonist.
  • Darkhorse Casting: A majority of the cast has little to no experience in voiceover.
  • Descended Creator: Nancy's Uncle Pete is voiced by Jamie Mitchell.
  • Development Hell: In 2012, 20th Century Fox and 21 Laps Entertainment announced a live-action film adaptation the book series with Tina Fey and Shawn Levy heading its production team, but nothing came to fruition in the following years since then, so the project is no longer active.
  • Disabled Character, Disabled Actor: Lionel's autistic cousin Sean in Nancy's New Friend is voiced by George Yionilus, who is autistic in real life.
  • Distanced from Current Events: The episode "Camp Fancy/Nancy's Vanity D'Art" was meant to air on August 24, 2018, but was moved to September 14. This is because the former segment involved a rainstorm ruining camp, which would be seen as insensitive in light of the hurricane striking Hawaii.
  • Dueling Shows: The show is competing against Pinkalicious & Peterrific, another cartoon based on an inherently girly children's book.
  • He Also Did:
  • Market-Based Title: The show is called Fancy Nancy Clancy virtually everywhere outside of the US. Justified, as the book series isn't that well-known outside of North America.
  • Meaningful Release Date:
    • The Christmas special "Nancy And The Nice List" aired December 14, 2018, the day that Nancy's voice actress Mia Sinclair Jinness turned 13.
    • "Nancy's New Friend," an episode where Nancy makes friends with an autistic kid, aired on April 2, 2020, which is Autism Awareness Day.
  • Out of Holiday Episode: "Nancy's Ooh La La Spa", a Mother's Day episode, aired on July 20, 2018, while "Nancy's Favorite Grandpa", a Father's Day episode, aired on April 26, 2020. These are the only cases of this happening due to the other holiday episodes airing in their respective months.
  • Out of Order: Going by production code, a majority of the second season aired out of order. For example: "The Return of Dudley/Nancy Quits the Clancys" was the first Season 2 episode aired, but the third produced.
  • Playing Against Type:
    • Comedians Alyson Hannigan and Rob Riggle as the friendly Claire and Doug Clancy.
    • Chi McBride voices the friendly Gus the mailman, in contrast to his Jerk with a Heart of Gold roles like Nick Fury.
    • Rachael MacFarlane voices characters with some type of edge to them, even on Sofia , though here, she's cast as Madame Lucille, a friendly ballet teacher.
  • Production Posse: A lot of the crew members worked on Sofia the First. This is clear in the many Easter Eggs and the show's style.
    • In voice actors, we have Alyson Hannigan, Sarah Mitchell, Jamie Mitchell, Madison Pettis, James Sie, Rachael MacFarlene, Jenna Lea Rosen, Tania Gunadi, and Fred Tatasciore.
  • Recursive Adaptation: The show was based on a series of books, then got its own books.
  • Recycled Script: The plot of "Frenchy, Mon Amour" pretty much uses the same plot as the SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Dumped". In both instances, the pet of the main character starts following around another character which makes them jealous, both let the pet choose who really likes them and they end up going to the oppisite character instead, the main characters try to get their pet to be around them but to no avail, they eventually break down when they think their pet will never hang with them again, and in the end they realize the reason the pet was hanging with the opposite character was because they were attracted to a leftover snack in the opposite character's pocket.
  • Screwed by the Network: By January 2019, the show's reruns started gradually decreasing to the point of only airing twice on weekdays across the Disney Junior block and channel, and only once on weekends for the latter.
    • In October 2019, the show went on an unannounced 3-month hiatus after the Season 2 premiere aired, with the second episode being pulled from its original airdate of October 25 and the second episode of the season not airing until January 10, 2020.
    • Starting May 2020, new episodes now air on Sunday mornings on the 24/7 channel only.
    • The day "Nancy the Auteur" aired, all of the season 3 episodes were dumped on DisneyNOW and Disney+ before their linear TV debuts.
  • Series Hiatus: After the Season 2 premiere, the series went on a 3-month hiatus from October 4, 2019 to January 10, 2020.
  • Write Who You Know: Nancy's dog Frenchy is based on Jamie Mitchell's dog Scout .
  • Voices in One Room: Averted. According to Mia Sinclair Jenness, the cast members record their lines seperately
  • What Could Have Been: According to John Pomeroy, both Nancy and Bree were originally going to have much curlier hair.
    • Also, Disney Junior plans an original animated telepic serve as the very first pilot, targeted to premiere in 2017. But few years, months, and days later, nothing really happened, so it's safe to say the the television movie/film was likely to be scrapped and abandoned or put on hiatus.
