Trivia / Dangerverse

• Actor Allusion: Possible inversion. In one of the AU fics, Nearly Headless Nick names John Cleese (who played him in the movies) as a descendant.
• Ascended Fanon: More than one fan's suggestions (usually peripheral stuff) has become Dangerverse canon, and utilized in-story.
• Fandom Nod: The author manages nods to both the Harry Potter fandom in general (including jabs at numerous Fanon and Fan Fic cliches such as, for example, Veela!Draco) and the Dangerverse fandom in particular. A chapter in FD even (repeatedly) references the Harry Potter fanfiction podcast Potter Fic Weekly, which featured Living With Danger several months before. (The section in question is essentially a series of inside jokes that are funny in themselves, but a great deal funnier if you listen to the podcast.)
• Schedule Slip: It took 5 years for Facing Danger (book 4) to be completed. Surpassing Danger (book 5) is thus far averaging slightly less than one chapter per month.
• Tuckerization: Several characters in Dangerverse are named after its fans, or the author's friends and family. The author makes a cameo as a portrait
• Word of God: By the author's own admission, the story was born of a bit of Fan Wank (Hermione's similarity to Remus, Harry and Hermione being Like Brother and Sister), was originally supposed to be "completely fluffy", "plotless", and with an original outline that was only eleven chapters long! Needless to say, it didn't work out that way. The original plan involved a Time Skip from the first meeting to the final defeat of Voldemort, but she got to enjoy writing it.
• Write What You Know: The author is a bit of a theatre geek (a bit of a geek in general, really) with a fondness for fantasy novels, Shakespeare, and the various things Shouted Out to. Also, at one point she planned to teach, and is apparently fluent in Latin.
