  • Acting for Two:
    • Austen Moret voices Hank, Doug, and Angelo.
    • Bindy Coda voices both Bibi and Bonnie.
    • Elizabeth Dean voices both Belle and Eve.
    • Kai Skrotzki voices both Stu and Chester.
    • Martin Schjøler voices Brawlers with heavily robotized or incomprehensible voice lines, including (but probably not limited to) Tara, Frank, Darryl, Tick, 8-Bit, Mr. P, Nani, Squeak, Otis, R-T, and Larry & Lawrie.
    • Nicholas Contreras voices both Fang and Cordelius.
    • Patrick Pedraza voices both Sandy and Gus.
    • Sandra Espinoza voices Shelly, Emz, and Jacky.
    • Steven Kelly voices both Surge and Byron.
  • Content Leak:
    • In June 2020, the Brawl Talk "script" (actually the AI generated Youtube subtitles) were leaked.
    • In September 2020, Colette's model and stats were leaked.
    • In January 2021, the entire Brawl Talk was accidentally leaked by the Korean Brawl Stars channel.
    • In late 2021, some assets were found in the game files that implied the arrival of some features related to clubsnote
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Martin Schjøler, a composer and musician working for Supercell, does the voices of virtually every Brawler with incomprehensible voicelines and a few robots. This includes Nani and Tara, who are female.
  • Demand Overload: Comes with pretty much every major update, but the most infamous case was arguably what the fans refer to as the "Edgar-pocalypse". In December 2020, the Epic Brawler Edgar was released. Yes, this would have still caused some server issues, but the fact that he was given out FOR FREE as a Christmas gift and that he was stupidly broken on release certainly didn't help. The servers went down for at least three to four hours.
  • Development Hell: By Supercell standards, at least. After a few months in beta, Supercell games tend to either release or shut down. Brawl Stars, though, stayed in beta for a year and a half, from June 2017 to December 2018.
  • Fake Nationality: Buster, a character who may or may not be American is voiced by Paul Moran, an Irish actor.
  • Official Fan-Submitted Content: Through Supercell Make, skins submitted to campaigns (always for specific Brawlers, sometimes requires the submitted skins to fit a certain theme) may win and be available in-game.
  • The Other Darrin: The Brawlers' voice actors have hardly ever reprised their roles for supplementary animations.
  • Referenced by...: Game Theory has made a video on the lore behind Brawl Stars, in collaboration with KairosTime, the biggest Brawl Stars theorist.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The game underwent two major name changes during development. It first went by the name of "Project Laser", then "Slugfest" and finally "Brawl Stars". Both of these titles would end up being referenced in the August 2020 8-BIT minigame.
    • When the game was still called "Project Laser", it was space themed, and from the "Slugfest" days until December 2017 it had a western theme.
    • Pam was originally going to be called "Minigunner", and would have had an appearance similar to that of Bull. Her appearances was changed to what we know today, and her name became "Mama J" before "Pam".
    • Brock was originally supposed to be a girl, as evidenced by early concept art.
    • Bea was originally going to fire homing projectiles, but that idea was scrapped. This concept ended up being used for Piper's second gadget, "Homemade Recipe".
  • Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things:
    • Originally, the "Winner of the Day" slot, which the devs thought would have housed great maps, was worth trophies. The feature ended up being removed in the Starr Force season update due to the sheer amount of troll maps winning every time.
    • On July 4, 2023, a Twitter user uploaded an AI-generated cover of "Dream On" sang by Janet. Sam Slade, Janet's voice actress, wasn't amused about it, with Sandra Espinoza (Shelly, Emz, and Jacky's voice actress) and Joshua Gordy (Buzz's voice actor) soon joining her, and the latter in particular engaging in a bitter tirade against the user and their defenders. It was eventually settled when the user deleted the tweet, and the voice actors have since dissuaded fans from using their voices for AI-generated content.
  • Working Title: As started above, the game was first known as "Project Laser" and later "Slugfest" before becoming Brawl Stars.
