When a video starts out with a warning that if you are a highly emotional person, then you shouldn't watch it, then you know that Where Was My Hero...? will be filled to the brim with Tear Jerker moments.
  • Miles' entire life is full of sadness and grief. Since this is an alternate universe where Tails and Sonic never met each other, Miles is constantly bullied with no one there to help him emotionally or even show him a little kindness. It's no wonder he became the story's Big Bad by the end.
  • The scene where Miles' pet bird dies. One winter day, Miles finds a bird with an injured wing in the snow and he decided to take care of the bird. It was then that he and the bird became great friends and for once, Miles was actually happy. But then a pair of bullies came in and tried to destroy Miles' latest invention. As a result, they accidentally killed the pet bird, which causes Miles to snap and kill the bullies. This event then causes Miles' Start of Darkness as he goes on to burn down his village and then sets out to destroy the world.
  • A child named Pearl can be seen running through a flaming village with her doll, screaming for her mother and father (pictured). And even when Sonic rescues her and escorts her to a safe zone, Pearl tearfully asks Amy about the whereabouts of her parents. Sonic and Amy are briefly left speechless, before Amy lies to Pearl, saying that her mom and dad could still be out there. This emphasises the far-reaching consequences of Miles' brutality: he has broken entire families.
  • The entire ending.
    • Sonic finally defeats Miles, but then he starts to feel regret about what he has done and he starts crying to himself about how he wished that he was there for Miles when he was going through a lot of pain and suffering in his life while Miles lies there, dying.
    • What makes this worse is that Miles asks Sonic that if they had met earlier, would things have turned out differently and Sonic tells him that he would have been a part of his family if they had met sooner. If you are a huge fan of Sonic and Tails' friendship in the official Sonic the Hedgehog series, you will be moved to tears during this scene.
    • The music chosen for the final scene, Sand Dream, from Puella Magi Madoka Magica is an incredibly emotional piece that fits the moment like a glove and more than does its job.
    • The original dubbed version of Sonic's monologue at the end...
