Go To

  • The death of Letitia.
  • The end of the last episode of the first series, where all the people and their animals turn up to the church and the heartstring-tugging rearrangement of the theme tune plays.
  • After the scathing article written about the prominent cast members in the village, David points out that the people in the room feel "used and betrayed" and asks Geraldine if she has anything to say for herself. Geraldine doesn't respond, clearly guilty. David then starts the town council meeting with a somber "This is a sad day".
  • Hugo, upon being told that God is a kind and loving father, thinks that he must have another father and resolves to track him down, because David is implied to be abusive.
  • David when Geraldine finally turns down his proposal of marriage.
  • The 2020 "In Lockdown" mini-series reveals that Alice has died from cancer (Emma Chambers having suffered a fatal heart attack in real life) and Geraldine has to stifle a sob as she reminisces about her friend. Dawn French's tears during this scene were very real — in fact they had to film multiple takes before she managed to get through it.
