  • It's a pretty small thing, but if VECTOR is in the Cutscene where HUNK forces Delta Team to withdraw before he heads back to get the G-Virus Sample from a mutated Birkin, it's pretty sad considering the former is the latter's apprentice. There's even a hint of concern in the typically stoic and mildly sociopathic VECTOR's voice at the fact that he has to leave his mentor behind to potentially die a painful death.
  • Near the end of the the game, you have the choice to either kill or protect Leon. Unless all four people choose one option, you end up killing the other members of your team. What's truly heartbreaking is throughout it all, both sides are trying to convince the other to come over to their side. Despite all the friction and animosity shown, these pieces of dialougue show that they all cared for each other and having to fight each other to the death is really heartrending for them.
  • The final chapter for the Spec Ops campaign is a recreation of the Dead Factory from Resident Evil 3, where Jill finds several dead tyrants and soldiers. It's a hard fought battle against a wave of bioweapon boss fights made a bit easier thanks to a air-dropped rail cannon sent by HQ. But the chapter is named "The Places We're Meant To Die". The whole thing is a What If? scenario. In the main game timeline all those dead soldiers Jill finds are you and your friends. Echo 6 never actually made it out of the city alive.
