    Episode ZERO
  • Mabushina having to witness (or rather, hear) firsthand her uncle's betrayal, her father's death, and the destruction of her home.

Series

Episode 4: Princess of the Lost Kingdom
  • Mabushina is initially overjoyed that her father may be alive, and that her only remaining family did not willingly betray Crystalia... only to learn later that Galza lied to her in order to get the White Kiramai Stone.

    Episode 5: Shovellow Unleashed!
  • We learn why Tametomo can't bring himself to rein Shovellow in: Shovellow reminds him of his late grandfather, who used to play video games with him when he was a kid and taught him all about gaming and winning. When his grandfather bought the wrong game by mistake, Kid!Tametomo demanded that he go back to the store, but he couldn't due to having a meeting. Tametomo then threw a tantrum and yelled that he hated him. That very night, his grandfather died of a heart attack. The look of horror and regret on Kid!Tametomo's face as he sees his grandfather's body is heartbreaking.

     Episode 11: Time is Looping
  • Tametomo nearly going mad at the revelation that there's no way to stop the time loop.
    • What's worse about this is that nobody else but him and the Jamenshi know about the time loop. Even though he could try and warn the others about it, time could just reset all over again.
  • There's something rather about Yojiro immediately quitting from e-sports to run his family's restaurant, all because he thought that Tametomo phoned it in at his last match.

    Episode 12: Wonder Drill Boy
  • One would think that the reunion between Mabushina and her long-lost brother Takamichi would be a happy one. Instead, Mabushina actually slaps him, demanding why he wasn't there to protect Crystalia when Yodonheim invaded and blaming him for their father's death.

     Episode 13: Great Underground War
  • Mabushina recalls that Takamichi was a nice, thoughtful person who cheered her up more times than not. Then all of the sudden, he became callous when he found Oradin's book, insisting that treasure hunting is his life and nothing more. Combined with him leaving Crystalia in order to look for these treasures, it's no wonder that Mabushina has such a problem with Takamichi.

     Episode 14: The Lonely Ace
  • Here it's revealed why Takamichi is so stubborn on maintaining his I Work Alone mindset: Galza basically manipulated him for possibly years into believing that working alone is what makes him shine. No wonder Takamichi is so pissed at Galza.
    • It gets even worse when one realizes that there's many implications that Takamichi would've ended up a nice, well-adjusted person if it wasn't for Galza's manipulations. Dude's messed up.
  • Takamichi nearly going into a Heroic BSoD when it's clear he hasn't made process in finding his changer.
  • Even though Takamichi is willingly working with the Kiramagers, Mabushina still, understandably, doesn't trust him. Just...ouch.

     Episode 16: Marshmallow Royale
  • Back when he was in high school, Takamichi got chocolates from his crush Akiho on Valentine's Day. His friends made fun of him for it, so he played it off, saying that he didn't actually want her chocolates (when clearly he did). Akiho overheard the conversation, which led to Takamichi trying to make it up to her on White Day with marshmallows. Unfortunately, the day before White Day, the whole entire incident with the Monstone happened, which meant that he left that incident unresolved for 30 years. This is basically why he couldn't confront Marshmallow Jamen at the beginning of the episode, as silly as his trauma initially seemed.

Episode 17: The Mansion's Rare Stone
  • We finally get the reason why Takamichi seems to be so obsessed with treasure hunting: he's looking for the Kanaema Stones in order to save Mabushina from being cursed. The others are absolutely stunned by the revelation.
    • Put in retrospect, we also find out the reason why Takamichi seemed to become extravagantly distant and aloof: he was only trying to protect his sister from finding out the true reason why he suddenly left Crystalia and became an obsessed treasure hunter.

     Episode 18: Darkness
  • According to Takamichi, the Queen's death was caused by the Witch of the Stagnant Sea's curse. After seven days, she became petrified and crumbled into dust. The kicker comes in when the others are informed that Mabushina is at risk of coming under the same fate, which is why Takamichi is so desperate to save her with the Kanaema Stones.
  • Takamichi utterly struggling against Galza's Jamentality, at many points telling the others to fight him straight on to prevent any more damage.

Episode 21: Fishing, Sometimes A Master
  • When Mabushina's curse acts up, it's clear that no one wants to tell her about it. Shiguru takes it upon himself to tell her, but Fire decides to tell the full story.
  • Oradin being first-hand witness to Mabayuine's death. Seriously, ouch.
  • Mabushina giving another What the Hell, Hero? to Takamichi for abandoning his teammates to show her Reversia. Unlike the previous times, she believes that it's because of Galza's influence still taking a hold on him. When Takamichi tries to deny it, she delivers a positively soul-crushing line.
Mabushina: I don't want you to be my hero. I want you...to be a hero to everyone.
  • The Reveal that Galza manipulated Takamichi's love for Mabushina to push him into getting the Kanaema Stones by himself, thus leaving Crystalia vulnerable to attack.

Episode 26: Make it an Arrow Weapon
  • Seeing the Kiramagers at their lowest point is utterly depressing. While the Mashins try to comfort them, the Kiramagers are ultimately crestfallen at how easily they lost against Yodonna and her mooks. Even when Shiguru tries to tell them to get off their feet and hurry, Sena refutes that they could easily lose just again, making it clear that she is terrified of what could happen to them.
  • When the others turn to Juru, Juru looks utterly miserable at their loss. It's clear as day that he's absolutely worried for them and doesn't want them to get hurt, whether it's Yodonna or Energia. He understands that there's a mission at hand, but he can't bear to see all of them sacrifice themselves to simply gain more power. Tametomo calls him out, but Juru is not having any of it, saying that he wants to protect everyone.
  • Sayo calls Mabushina to tell her to give Juru her best regards if something happens to her. Just the sentiment alone drives the Crystalian to tears.

     Episode 28: Crying Shiguru
  • Mabushina being envious of Juru being able to meet with Oradin is quite depressing to look at.
  • It's revealed here that Hakobu was vacationing on Earth when Crystalia was under attack. By the time he learned of Oradin's death and the fall of Crystalia, it was far too late. As a result, he shut himself on an island far away from the rest of the world and never left the island up until he met Shiguru and Juru out of sheer guilt.

     Episode 36: RAP
  • For an episode that revolves around diss-rapping, it surprisingly delivers some sad moments between the Mashins and Kiramagers.
    • When the Kiramagers, under the influence of Carantula's rap, insult the Mashins for being selfish; they coldly shut themselves off. The worst part? The Kiramagers didn't mean any of that, but the Mashins take it at face-value because of Crystas.
    • While they know that they didn't mean it, Fire acknowledges that the Mashins may have been selfish over their own desires, rather than the Kiramagers. This leads him to thinking that maybe he shouldn't have met Juru after all. Juru gets pissed and calls him an idiot, shutting himself off just like the other Mashins.

     Episode 37: Sena 1/5
  • Sena #5 is practically this. As the embodiment of Sena's negativity, she believes that her contributions don't matter and thus decides to commit Suicide by Sea. It takes Sayo's intervention and encouragement for her to realize that she truly is a valuable asset to the whole Sena.
  • The Stinger is a surprisingly sad one as Yodonna is told that she was merely a part of Emperor Yodon the whole time. Her reaction is rather understated, but still miserable to see. Though judging by the scene with Carantula in the next episode, she appears to have gotten over it.

Episode 38: Watching My Uncle's Moon
  • Imagine hearing your uncle — or any member of your own family, for that matter — whom you greatly loved and admired since young, gleefully admitting to having tried to kill you. Even worse? Them saying that they always hated you and intended to kill you from the start. Poor Takamichi.

Episode 39: The Emperor is a Sniper
  • Mabushina blames herself for the events that transpired over the episode, believing that it was her fault that Shadon is shooting at the team. The team quickly consoles her, telling her that they are protecting her because they care about her.

     Episode 40: Aching Person
  • Saburo's story is quite tragic. Labeled as a Reclusive Artist, his only friend was a much younger boy named Calorie (heavily implied to be a figment of his imagination). After years, he finally gets a new friend and protege in Juru, who is incredibly supportive of his work. Then he enters a manga contest with Calorie's support, assuming that things will go well. Unfortunately, his work not only gets rejected - he gets a slew of horrible comments, calling his work terrible. As if that wasn't enough, Calorie was revealed to be Wire Jamen all this time. All of this sends him over the Despair Event Horizon, transforming him into Jishiki Shellga. While the Kiramagers won out, it's never made clear if Saburo got over the pain of losing his friend and getting his art rejected.
  • Before Saburo gets sucked out by Duston, he's seen with his passions, along with Calorie. He tries to reach out to him... only to get sucked out when he gets close. After the battle, he's seen crying, with the team trying to comfort him.

Episode 41: I Want to Be As I Am
  • Without the influence of his evil side, Carantula decides to turn his back on Yodonheim, fully dedicating himself to his art. Unfortunately, Yodonna won't let that happen and constantly attacks him for his betrayal. It gets to the point where Emperor Yodon steps in and decides to execute him once and for all, angered by his sudden betrayal.

Episode 42: The Battle Without Honor
  • Things seem to be going well at school - that is, until Juru's classmates get corrupted by Galza's smog and act like Bechats. Kakihara and Juru try to run away from the smog, but Kakihara lets Juru go, telling him to save her when it's all said and done. Juru can only run away in horror afterwards.
  • Juru gets a good look at a young Crystallian who's optimistic with his new attack and wishes to use it to protect his people. At first, Juru and the audience assumed that it was a younger Oradin since he is established to have the strongest Kiramental in his kind, matching only to Juru himself. Unfortunately, it was revealed in the end to be Galza, of all people. One has to wonder how the originally kind and idealistic boy was turned into the worst traitor in Crystallian history.

     Episode 43: The Dirty Hero
  • It's revealed here that Galza was corrupted by Emperor Yodon back in his youth with The Power of Hate, causing his head to go black as he rages against his brother. He never actually hated his brother up until that moment, which only makes the moment where he realizes that his hate was fabricated even more tragic.
    • Not only that, imagine how shocked, confused and hurt Oradin must have felt at that time, seeing his loving, cheerful brother suddenly turn hateful and jealous overnight.
  • Galza futilely tries to go after Yodon, but is quickly crushed by the emperor, tragically killed by him after his purpose was fulfilled. Juru could only tremble in sadness before he gets thrown into a trench in Yodonheim, leaving behind his amusement park ticket from Episode 42.
  • The Stinger has Fire think about what he wanted to say to Juru before the latter headed out, but lost the nerve to. Now, it appears that he'll never have the chance.
Fire: Juru, the two of us... we're friends forever.

Episode 44: Rest In Peace, My Friend
  • Just to add more salt into the wound, the whole team is incredibly distraught over Juru's supposed death, looking on the verge of tears. Mabushina nearly faints out of sheer grief over the revelation. The final straw is Fire crying out in sheer pain over his partner, clearly the most heartbroken of the bunch.
  • Fire in general is incredibly disheartening to listen to this episode. You can tell that even though he's putting up a brave front and trying his hardest to update Juru the best that he can, it's clear that he's extremely broken up over the possibility of Juru actually being dead. It takes Mabushina's orders for him to get a grip and focus on the mission, knowing that Juru would want him to fight for the Earth no matter what.
  • Yodonna gets a major slap in the face after Yodon kills her to break the seal. She starts crying, asking Yodon if he ever loved her as some sort of comfort. She tries to get an answer out of him, but it's made clear as mud that Yodon never cared for her, leading to her dying out of sheer pity.
Yodonna: (in tears) This is where I should cry, right...?
Emperor Yodon: On the contrary, this is the perfect moment to laugh! For you are dying in service to me!
    Yodonna: I don't think... I... can...
  • One of Galza's last moments is him wondering if he and Oradin can be on better terms as brothers in the next life, clearly wanting forgiveness for his actions from before.

     Mashin Sentai Kiramager Spin-off: Yodonna
  • When it is revealed Mizuki was being drained by Yodonna, it is clear Yodonna is starting to feel conflicted and that Mizuki is very angry and sad at the one she believed was her partner.
    • What makes it worse is that it happens a little over an hour since she learned that Enoshima, someone the Kakihara siblings used to trust and look up to as an exemplar cop, was a Dirty Cop who worked with an yakuza group that harvested organs, and had now captured and beaten Mizuki's brother.
  • As Mizuki's time is almost up, Yodonna yanks the device responsible for the life drain and decides to use what little time she had left to save Mizuki and her brother, as much as Mizuki didn't want to lose her new friend.
    • And sure enough, comes the moment when Yodonna has to fade away in Mizuki's arms and doesn't understand why her tears are coming out if she doesn't feel sad. Mizuki teaches her that it is Joy that she is feeling, and while tearful, they part ways in joyful terms.
  • Yodonna finally learns about true love and then Miko betrays her, revealing herself to be Hanidora and having wanted to use Yodonna in an attempt to revive Emperor Yodon. After unleashing all her anger over being betrayed and destroying Hanidora, Yodonna is left feeling the pain of a broken heart and questioning what to do with the new life she earned.
    • During the moment Yodonna takes to observe all the happy couples around it is highlighted that a brokenhearted Tametomo is being consoled by a very emotional Shiguru. What makes this moment sting harder is that Yodonna did feel her heart skip a beat when she was saved by Tametomo, but thanks to Miko's machinations she was led to believe that he wasn't the one.
