General

  • The formation of the Kiramagers is this. Just think about it, they are all 5 (eventually 6) people from radically different backgrounds who were asked by alien gems to fight against the evil forces that invaded their planet and is going to do that to their own. They all have no problem accepting the dangers and fight with their lives on the line.
  • Juru leading his teammates through wisdom and encouragement, rather than through strict Attack Pattern Alpha orders. It's a refreshing take on a Sentai leader that's awesome, heartwarming, and sometimes hilarious.
  • Despite the team being a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits to a point and having very good reasons not to fight together, the team almost immediately gets along instead, learning to bolster each others' strengths and working together in a nearly seamless fashion. Even when there are understandable arguments between each other, they try and work to fix it rather than let it plague them for the entirety of the episode. After a few years of teammates being fractured due to a number of differences, seeing this strong dynamic among the team is both refreshing and heartwarming.
  • In the crossover movie with Ryusoulger and Lupinranger vs. Patranger, Juru refers to Cure Star as his senior a number of times.
  • In contrast to other Super Sentai series or Tokusatsu in general, the Kiramagers don't need to give up their dreams or put them on a hold due to their duties nor do they even need to search for one. They already are working on their dreams and careers and don't put them behind their duties as Kiramagers since as Juru notes, it would actually demerit them since they wouldn't be able to fight at their best if they were forced to give up their passion.

Episodes

Episode 1: The Mashins Are Born
  • Fire's unshakable faith in Juru becoming the fifth member of the Kiramagers, even after Juru refused to join them out of fear and self-depreciation.
  • As soon as he sees his classmates in danger, Juru grows a pair and decides to change because he wants to save them. Doubles as an Awesome moment.

Episode 2: Proof of a Leader
  • Juru as the leader lets Sena go to the competition instead of sending a double since he understands how important a dream is to someone.
  • Sena immediately accepting Juru as the leader despite not trusting him in the beginning.
  • In a deleted scene, Sena encouraging Juru to drop the honorific. Juru quite adorably calls her "Sena" right back.
    • In that same scene, Tametomo bugging Juru to imagine up some gourmet sushi, with Juru obviously knowing that his ability does not work like that. It's about as hilarious as it is adorable.
  • Juru and Sena's dynamic throughout this episode. While it started out on rocky ground, it quickly changes to a strong friendship thanks to their similar traits and Juru showing off his leadership skills.

Episode 3: The Vice Guy! No Advice Needed
  • Juru managing to convince Shiguru to let his "cool" exterior go and let the others handle it with some good ol' reenactment of Shiguru's drama. It's enough to get the latter to rest until they could get the vice off.
  • A strange example, but the others making fun of Shiguru's interview. It's clear that the others have gotten fairly close in their short time together, even if it's at the hilarious expense of Shiguru.

Episode 4: Princess of the Lost Kingdom
  • Juru fighting off Galza for Mabushina's sake. Even if they only known each other for a short while, it's clear that Juru cares about Mabushina's well-being.

     Episode 5: Shovellow Unleashed!
  • Another interesting example, but Shovellow wanting Tametomo as the leader of the team. Even though he went about it the wrong way and everyone calls him out for it, it's nice to see that Shovellow does care about Tametomo, even with all of their bickering.
  • Tametomo accepting Juru as the leader. He explains that while he secretly still wants to be the leader; he lets it slide in order to not disrupt the group dynamic.

Episode 6: Suddenly Turning 5 Years Old!
  • Sayo showcasing her iron will and kind nature by rescuing her dojo's puppy when she was just five years old. Doubles as an Awesome moment.
  • A subtle one, but Tametomo calling Sayo "Sayo-nee".
  • In the end before Sayo turns back her mentally 5 year old self is happily running around the base and playing with Mabushina with the other Kiramager just happy to have her in good spirits even if she stays like that. A big difference from her being terrified of Mabushina and constantly miserable and crying throughout the episode

     Episode 8: Express Lightning

Episode 9: This is My Youthful Path of Karuta
  • The reveal that Makino and Sena were Childhood Friends. Even though that Makino treated her awfully later on in her life, it's clear that Sena does still care about her.
  • Makino revealing that she misses playing with Sena and honestly wanting to be her friend again.
  • Makino and Sena patching up their relationship in the end, despite their prior animosity.

     Episode 11: Time is Looping
  • Juru drawing Tametomo in "serious mode", proving just how darn sweet the kid is.
  • Tametomo asking Yojiro for a rematch, but with him using his main to prove his determination. Yojiro decides to lay off him after the rematch and retire in peace.
  • Tametomo thanking Juru for his advice (even though the latter clearly does not remember that). For a person who wasn't a big fan of Juru in the beginning, this moment shows that he's clearly grown from that and appreciates the help.

     Episode 13: Great Underground War

     Episode 14: The Lonely Ace
  • Takamichi realizing that his I Work Alone mindset is useless in the face of danger. This is what gets him to finally start working with the Kiramagers.
  • Everyone (including the Mashins!) both directly and indirectly helping Takamichi find his changer by clearing out the rubble.
  • Takamichi calling Juru "Leader". Again, this is the same guy who practically dismissed him previously.
  • Juru and Sena immediately getting in on Takamichi's Catchphrase. Crosses over with Funny as Sayo and Shiguru stay silent while Tametomo sounds annoyed.

Episode 15: Listen, The Voice of Takamichi
  • We finally get to see Mabushina slowly warming back up to Takamichi. Even though she would rather not admit it, she does actively care about him and wants to make amends as well.
  • Takamichi used to braid Mabushina's hair every morning back when she was young. He even reminds her of it, which leads to her getting her hair braided by an outside source.
  • Shiguru trying to give Takamichi advice on how to deal with Mabushina, even when the latter clearly rejects it.

     Episode 16: Marshmallow Royale
  • Sena helping out Takamichi because she wants him to be at his best when he's with the team.
  • There's a minor moment in the mech battle when Juru says they'll do it gunman-style because Tametomo was cool. A minor moment, but it's still all adorable. Especially when Tametomo seems to get a little flustered over it.
  • Akiho and Takamichi's reconciliation at the end of the episode, 30 years later.
  • When the others point out that Sena's reason for helping out Takamichi seems selfish, Juru points out the smile on her face, saying that she wouldn't look like that if it was that simple.

Episode 17: The Mansion's Rare Stone
  • The Reveal that the rest of the Kiramagers actually put Takamichi's treasure hunt first as they believe that he's truly a good person with good intentions. That's right, even our resident Jerk with a Heart of Gold Tametomo fully believes in Takamichi's good heart.
  • Takamichi putting the fight with Hammer Basra first before getting the Kanaema Stone from the mansion. What makes this even better is that Takamichi has always kept himself at an arm's distance when it came to being a part of the team. With this moment, he states with his whole heart that the Kiramagers are his friends and that he's grateful for them accomplishing his request because they knew that he's a good person.
  • Takamichi wanting to change into GigantDriller because of Mabushina. Doubles as an Awesome moment.
  • While it's ultimately a dark moment, Takamichi revealing that his "obsession" with treasure hunting is because he wants to save Mabushina from being cursed.

     Episode 18: Darkness
  • Mabushina was willing to risk her life to get through to Takamichi, even though the others strongly agree against it.
  • Juru using Destoria without hesitation to destroy the Monstone inside of Takamichi without a surefire answer if using its power would have negative consequences. All of this because he didn't want Takamichi or Mabushina risking their life.
  • Takamichi tells Mabushina what's the most precious treasure for him, her smile and happiness. While Takamichi sheepishly confesses would be awkward for him if Mabushina conveys anything about it. She ultimately hugs him and expresses her joy for her brother's "return" to who's she formerly known.
    • With this, Takamichi and Mabushina finally making up after all of these years.
  • The others reaffirming to protect Mabushina, despite not knowing if the curse will appear on her or not.

     Episode 19: Partner
  • While Fire may act completely unlike Juru, he most definitely has Juru's kindness, as he encourages Takeshi to do whatever he wants. This gets the kid to actually enjoy the art class, unlike previously, where he ended up ripping the paper out of sheer annoyance.
  • The Kiramagers encouraging the Mashins to fight their way.
  • The Kiramagers and Mashins in general have such a heartwarming dynamic this episode. Even with all of the struggles of the "Freaky Friday" Flip, they learn to work together in a seamless fashion, allowing each other to appreciate what they do.

     Episode 20: Dangerous Pair
  • Juru revealing that his drawing of Kakihara wasn't out of spite - but rather admiration. He calls her out for lying to their teacher, but thinks that her two-faced nature is actually pretty cool. As a result, Kakihara decides to act nicer to Juru.
  • We have Kakihara still holding on to Juru, even though both the Jamenshi and the Jamen Beast were destroyed. Ah, what a wonder to be young indeed.
  • Kakihara's drawing of Juru. While pretty damn weird in it of itself, the thought behind it was pretty damn sweet you gotta admit.

Episode 21: Fishing, Sometimes a Master
  • Mabushina admitting that she wants Takamichi to be a hero. This turns to a Tearjerker later on when she tells him to be a hero to everyone, not just her.
  • Fire taking it upon himself to tell the story of how Mabayuine got Numajo's curse which also affected Mabushina.
  • Takamichi showing Reversia to Mabushina with utter glee in the hopes of cheering her up.

Episode 22: Are You Prepared? The Witch is There!
  • Takamichi ultimately refusing to go on his own to the past because of Mabushina, opting to protect the city while the others go in his place.
  • When Juru offers himself to go, Tametomo and Sena also offer themselves up, saying that it's both their duty and what their leader would do. Notable about this is that these two were the ones that heavily doubted Juru as a leader in a beginning. Seeing the both of them follow his lead with no hesitation is amazing.
  • When Mabushina says that Takamichi is her hero, he refutes that by replying that he abandoned her to save everyone. She refutes it right back, saying:
Mabushina: The hero who fights for everyone...is the hero that I admire.
  • Takamichi fully embracing the team at the end, saying that Mabushina will be able to see a wonderfully splendid fight with him and the others.

     Episode 23: Mabushina's Mother
  • Mabayuine reuniting with her children.
  • Mabushina gathering all of the courage in her body to perform in front of her mom to distract her. Made especially heartwarming was that we were shown that Mabushina got flustered when she wanted to perform for her mom.
  • Mabayuine instantly bursting into action because of Mabushina's performance, because of Mabushina's consideration for her sake. This directly influenced her to give back twice as much.
  • Mabayuine comforting Mabushina by saying that she entrusts her with the fate of Earth when she has to go back to sleep.

     Episode 24: Let's Start a Band
  • Sayo wanting to play the song that Yukiya wrote so that he'll go into surgery. It takes some work and there are a couple of bumps along the way thanks to the Jamenshi, but the song cheers him up and makes him want to do the surgery.
  • Juru asking the others to form a band for Sayo's sake. While the others aren't too hot on the idea at first, they do it anyway after seeing how gloomy Sayo is.
  • Just seeing everyone dancing and laughing when Yuki wo Kanae e te is playing is just full-on heartwarming.
  • Yuki wo Kanae e te is extremely heartwarming all on its own, as its lyrics talk about gaining the courage to do what you want with your friends. While Tametomo takes lead, the others help out by playing their instruments and doing the backing vocals, making it a complete team effort.

Episode 25: That Cute Shrine Maiden
  • Takamichi wanting to find the rest of the Kanaema Stones to restore Crystalia with Mabushina as queen.
  • The priest revealing that Juru often went to the temple to gain inspiration, becoming close with him along the way.

Episode 26: Make it an Arrow Weapon
  • Crossing over with Tearjerker, Juru wanting to prevent the team from killing themselves with Energia while also wanting to save everyone. This leads him to putting the time limit on the Go-Kiramager power-up to prevent themselves from overworking themselves.
  • Tametomo saying to Yodonna that with his friends, they'll win, no matter what happens. And he proves his point marvelously when the team defeats all of the Bomb Jamen clones in no time. Also counts as a CMOA.
  • Crossing over as a CMOF, Juru - albeit kind of awkwardly - trying to comfort Tametomo after his crush on "Shuka" fell through.

     Episode 27: Great Pinch Runner
  • Just the fact that Natsume and Miki made their appearances here after 12 years, even though Kiramager isn't an anniversary episode.
  • It's revealed here that Natsume and Sena went to college together, with Sena wearing the SCRTC uniform to help out her friend.
  • Miki going full Mama Bear on Galza, fending him off long enough to allow Natsume to escape. Crosses over with Awesome.
  • Sena boasting that The Power of Friendship allowed her to keep on running, knowing that her friends will be able to get the bomb off in time.
  • Sena - after much complaining - proudly proclaims her love for Janlanguage (the language that Jan often used in Gekiranger as a way to express his feelings), explaining what "nikiniki" means. The boys don't really get it, but they go with it nonetheless.

     Episode 28: Crying Shiguru
  • Back in the day, Hakobu apparently cried with Oradin whenever Oradin had one of his crybaby moments to sympathize with him. That, in turn, allowed Oradin to grow a pair and become the wise king that we know today.
  • Hakobu revealing that he never lost his soft side when he cries with Shiguru, being reminded of Oradin.
  • If you pay attention to the lyrics of Shiguru's character song, it's reflective of his journey throughout the show and shows that he's clearly grown from his "cool" loner mindset from the beginning of the series.

     Episode 29: The Illusionary Atamald
  • Despite not knowing the kid at all, Oradin's sheer faith in Juru is the key in what allows him to revive. Seeing the Crystalian instill so much faith in Juru is very much both awesome and heartwarming.
  • The first thing Oradin does in his stone form? Heal the Mashins from their exhausted states. The relief in the team's eyes says it all.
  • Mabushina, Takamichi and Hakobu are overjoyed at Oradin's revival, with Mabushina about to cry. Muryo also looks pleased at the revelation, merely looking at Mabushina with a reflective look.

     Episode 30: A Proud Warrior
  • Despite being completely wrong about it, Takamichi (and Mabushina) wanting to see Muryo becoming a true warrior is this in spades, especially since Takamichi wasn't able to see him grow up for the past 30 years.
  • Muryo bringing a bunch of gifts for the Crystalian family and a whole manga series for his brother. Oradin takes notice and praises him for his thoughtfulness, offering him to become a warrior. When Muryo rejects the offer, Oradin instead decides to make a pact, saying that he lend a hand whenever he's in need. Skip to 30 years later, Oradin more than makes up for this pact by coming the second Muryo calls upon him from Atamald.
  • Muryo, in a rather nice subversion from other Sentai support members and mentors, fully embraces his role as Mission Control, which in turn allows the team to be as strong as they can be. Juru picks up on this and decides to call upon the Kiraful Go-Arrow anyways, despite Takamichi's protests.
  • Takamichi and Muryo hugging at the end, with Mabushina joining in.

     Episode 31: Toys
  • As much as it is painful for the Mashins, seeing Tatsuki play so freely with the toys is bound to bring a smile on your face just like Juru.
  • Juru consoles Tatsuki despite Takamichi's protests, wanting him to know that he doesn't have to hide his feelings from his mother.
  • Despite Tatsuki's mother being busy with work, she was still able to get him a slice of cake when she got home.
  • Takamichi staying behind to help Tatsuki explain to his mother what was going on, despite his protests earlier in the episode.
  • The biggest heartwarming moment of them all: Tatsuki telling his mother that he gets lonely when he has to watch the house alone, but he wants a hug from her every morning so that he'll be able to get through it. The sentiment slowly brings tears to the mother's eyes and they both happily hug each other with Kiramaizin and Gigant Driller watching behind clearly happy for both of them.

Episode 33: Great Crash, Big Panic!
  • Oradin's metaphorical speech to Galza is this in spades.
Oradin: Galza, you thought by keeping me occupied, your plan was guaranteed to succeed. But you were wrong. Sayo gave up on remaining transformed, in order to inform the others about the Yodon Ivy. Sena, Shiguru and Takamichi. They all fought their hardest in order to keep the Jamen Beasts on the ropes. Tametomo's clear headed analysis came up with a plan to defeat the enemy. And Juru... with his two bouts of "Hiramaiking!" was able to turn the tables on the brink of defeat. Galza... the reason you lost is because you underestimated these six, and their leader, Juru. Even when battered, they polish each other to shine again... the greater the danger, the closer they become, and the more they inspire each other. That is their Kiramental!
    • Let's think about this for a second here. Despite not knowing any of them personally (besides Takamichi and possibly Juru), Oradin still trusts them with his whole heart because they were able to fight off Yodonheim with determination and passion. They didn't sign up for any of this, but they're more than willing to put their lives on the line if it means Earth is safe.

Episode 34: Blue and Yellow Passion
  • Shiguru, while dying from Numajo's poison no less, tells Tametomo to stop blaming himself for whatever happened with Yodonna. He doesn't know why Tametomo is so wrapped up in defeating Yodonna, but he wants Tametomo to know that he can be better than that.
  • The sheer fact that Tametomo and Shiguru, two cool guys in their own right, don't argue or complain about each other's coolness. They fully respect each other and they can count on each other when it matters. It is not only amazing, but it also shatters the recurring Sentai trope that the resident "cool guys" can't be cool with each other until the end of the episode.

     Episode 35: A Wandering Mabushina
  • Wracked with guilt over yesterday, Mabushina calls upon Takamichi for comfort. He tells her that if she wants to get rid of the guilt, she needs to be just as sincere in her next actions. Borrowing from both this and Muryo's apology gift from the morning before, Mabushina turns that guilt into action by creating a golf ball for Shiguru, Sena, and Juru to use against the Jamenshi.

     Episode 36: RAP
  • Juru and Fire's rap battle. While they do point out each other's flaws, they both admit that they do deeply care and rely on each other no matter what. This breaks the Kiramagers' brainwashing and gets the Mashins to forgive the team. The art of the respectful diss, as the Dark Rapper explains it.
  • Despite not knowing what's ahead of them, Juru and Fire both promise to each other that they'll stay by each other's side no matter what.

     Episode 37: Sena 1/5
  • There's something oddly touching about Galza expressing relief at Carantula surviving.
  • Sayo encouraging Sena #5 that her negativity is what allows the full Sena to not be so reckless while making decisions, as she plans for the next step ahead. It's enough for #5 to grow a pair and want to come back to Sena.

Episode 38: Watching My Uncle's Moon
  • The real reason that Oradin stopped the Grajewel between Takamichi and Galza is because he knew that Galza used an underhanded tactic to nearly kill Takamichi when his back was turned.

Episode 39: The Emperor is a Sniper
  • Takamichi buying a ring for Mabushina for her Kishinjinse.
  • When Mabushina blames herself for everything that's happened, the team quickly comforts her, saying that they protected her because they care about her - not because she's weak. The sentiment drives her to Tears of Joy.

     Episode 40: Aching Person
  • Juru, being the Nice Guy that he is, immediately supports Saburo's work and tells him that he deeply admires it. The sentiment clearly brings Saburo some joy.
  • Juru, Tametomo, and Sena see a poster of Saburo's artwork, which leads Juru to believe that Saburo was able to get his manga published. Ambiguous Ending it may be, it's nice to see that there was some closure on Saburo's story.

Episode 41: I Want to Be As I Am
  • Carantula surprisingly finding a kindred spirit in Juru, as the both of them are creative artists that want to show their work to the world. Even though he's a Yodonheim general, he decides to go against the invasion in favor of creating his own works, all because of Juru's influence.
  • Cat!Juru and Carantula painting a picture without a care in the world, even if it was destroyed by Yodonna. While Juru doesn't quite remember what happened, he knows that something fun happened, despite their differences.

Episode 42: The Battle Without Honor
  • Mizuki offering Juru a ticket to an amusement park, clearly wanting to go on a date with him.

     Episode 43: The Dirty Hero
  • Juru admiring Galza for his creations, which leads to him opening up his memories.
  • Young!Galza absolutely admires Oradin, to which the latter does the same. Then the two are shown having a drawing contest, complimenting each other's works to no end.

Episode 44: Rest In Peace, My Friend
  • Mixed in with Tearjerker, Fire trying to communicate with Juru despite being told that he's dead, knowing from the bottom of his heart that Juru is somehow alive. Even though Juru can't communicate with him, he wants to do the best that he can to update Juru no matter the cost. As it turns out by the end, Juru did manage to get his messages in Yodonheim, but couldn't message him back until he got back to Earth.
  • Galza pulling off a Heroic Sacrifice for Juru's sake, telling him to keep on creating art and to live on for his sake. He even entrusts Jouki with him in his dying moments, knowing that the Mashin will be in good hands. Just when he dies, he wonders if he and Oradin can be on better terms in the next life. Also counts as an Awesome moment.
  • Just the sight of Juru reuniting with the others after his supposed death is just heartwarming all around.
    • Tametomo, the first one who doubted his abilities, is the first one to hug him after he comes back.
    • Sena calling him an idiot in affection.
    • Shiguru dissolving into Inelegant Blubbering at the whole thing, with Takamichi and Sayo quickly following him.
    • Takamichi basically saying "screw it" and joining them despite the threat of Yodon still there.
  • Despite Carantula being one of the bad guys, he decides to fully commit to leaving Yodonheim for good, getting Illusia as a bargaining card because he knew that the Kiramagers were going to make history.

Episode 45: When You All Shined Together
  • When the Kiramagers are fighting Yodon, Mabushina stands on the sidelines with their respective Mashins (and Oradin), commenting on why they shine. Despite all of the setbacks and trauma they have experienced over the series, the team was able to smile and keep going, only getting stronger in the process. Throughout the series, they truly shined to the very best, which was why they were able to defeat Yodon no matter what happened to them. Crosses over with Awesome.
  • Everything about the three-month timeskip:
    • Carantula runs Yodonheim now, able to freely create any painting he wants for the world to see. As revealed by Juru, he still keeps in contact with him, updating him on his creations.
    • Mabushina and Takamichi use the Kanaema Stones to restore Crystalia from the ground-up, finally able to return home to a place they all thought was long gone. In the three month timeskip, we see that the kingdom is thriving thanks to their rule. On top of that, Mabushina became queen of Crystalia, with Oradin's and Mabuyuine's blessing.
    • The Crystalian family went out of their way to install a mountain with the Kiramagers carved in it, memorializing their success against Yodonheim.
    • The team reuniting with their Mashin partner, obviously overjoyed that they get to see each other again.
    • The implication that Juru and Kakihara managed to get together in the three months, with the team happily surprised at the relationship. The series ends with the two running around because of Juru's picture of the Zenkaigers.
    • And the final shot of the show before the annual Hand Off? A drawing of the whole team Juru made in his sketchbook.

     Mashin Sentai Kiramager Spin-off: Yodonna
  • This special fully confirms that Juru and Kakihara are an Official Couple with Juru stating that Kakihara has her own good points when Tametomo asks what he sees in her.
  • When the switched phone of Mizuki was shown, the lock screen shows a picture of Juuru and Kakihara's selfie.
  • Yodonna grows immensely in the spinoff through her relationship with Kakihara as being fused to her allows her to develop a complete emotional spectrum. In the end, she opts to reject reviving at the cost of Kakihara's life and fights to protect her and dies happy, a total 180 from how she was in the show. In the end it's even suggested that Yodonna might not only get revived despite that, but she'll get the chance to make amends with Tametomo.
  • Hern, the judge of the dead in Yodonheim, deserves mention for allowing the Maneki-neko Jamen into heaven over him being a good Jamen who was simply following the Emperor's orders and being willing to give two chances for Yodonna to come back to life, even after she botched the first chance by being impatient and not listening to what he had to say.
    • While Yodonna is serving time helping Hern and Mose with the line of souls in the afterlife, she learns of a threat that plans to revive the Emperor Yodon, so Yodonna appeals to Hern that she needs to return to the world of living in order to learn about love. While Mose contests, Hern vehemently approves because he believes the day she chose, which so happens to be Valentine's Day, will be perfect for her to learn about True Love.
    • After Yodonna is heartbroken by Miko's betrayal, she contacts Hern for guidance on what to do next, and he advises that she lives and learn with humans, as he believes she can still find her true love, which brings a small smile to Yodonna's face before she heads her own way.
