  • The uniforms worn by the students in Lloyd's boarding school are the Hogwarts uniforms from the LEGO Harry Potter line recolored with a skull emblem printed on it.
  • In "The Royal Blacksmiths" Cole mentions Clutch Powers, the main protagonist of a previously released LEGO film. This seems to imply that a lot of LEGO franchises are set in the same universe.
  • Instead of her regular outfit Nya has in the victory party scene at the end of "All of Nothing" the torso/leg design of the Willie Scott figure from LEGO's Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom line.
  • In "Day of the Great Devourer," Zane predicts they have only an eight percent chance of getting away from the Devourer; Nya snaps, "Never tell me the odds!"
  • When Lord Garmadon assembles the Mega-Weapon at the Golden Peaks in "Darkness Shall Rise", the camera zooms to Sensei Wu, who says "I fear there is a great disturbance in the force."
  • In "The Last Hope", when the Ninja are trying out elemental one-liners (mostly puns), Zane tries "Ice to meet you!" on for size. One of the other ninja replies that he thinks he's heard that one before.
  • The team gets a Mid-Season Upgrade called "ZX". Ninja-themed superhero called ZX? Sounds familiar?
  • Cole moonwalks and dances just like the King of Pop in "Island of Darkness". Saying "hee hee" with the baseline to "Billie Jean" playing in the background, no less!
  • When Bansha briefly possesses Misako from a distance in "Grave Danger", she yells "No Misako, only Bansha!"
  • Speaking of which, the Ghosts in season 5 seem to really like the theme for that show.
  • In Season 11 when Fugi-Dove is describing his "battle" with Jay, Jay seems to perform a familiar move.
  • While in the middle of a platforming level in Season 12, Jay is quick to perform the Hype dance at one point.
  • In "How to Build a Dragon", Iron Baron ends up covered in dragon manure and complains about hating manure.
Iron Baron: Manure. I hate manure!
  • The second poster for "Season 15: Crystallized" is a pretty obvious homage to the penultimate installment to Phase 3 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Endgame, with nigh identical placements with the characters, as well as matchups towards their traits;
    • The Hero (Lloyd and Steve Rogers) is right in the middle at the bottom.
    • The Big Good (Wu and Tony Stark) is right at the top with their head taking up most of the space.
    • An incredibly powerful female (Skylor and Carol Danvers) on the right of The Hero.
    • A skilled female warrior (Samurai X Nya and Okoye) is directly on the right with the left side of her body facing the front of the poster.
    • A Plucky Comic Relief with lightning powers (Jay and Thor) on the right of the Big Good.
    • A character with a major plot twist early on in the series (Zane and Rhodey) on the left side with their left arm out shooting something.
    • A swordsman who has at one point gone by the name Ronin (Ronin and Clint Barton) at the bottom left next to The Hero.
    • An animal (Crystal Chicken and Rocket Raccoon) at the bottom right.
    • The Big Bad (The Crystal King and Thanos) are looming in the background at the top left.
