Tropes A - J (Bait and Switch | Cuteness Proximity | Didn't Think This Through) | Tropes K - Z (Shout-Out | Troll | You Are Better Than You Think You Are)
Behold all the nods made in MoringMark's Owl House comics.
- Mark recreates the Season 2 intro in the style of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
- Luz, Willow and Gus perform "I Want It That Way" during a Bardic Competition.
- One comic is the infamous Squish That Cat video, but with Amity and Ghost.
- Another references a gag from Fairly OddParents.
- Luz Naruto runs.
- After Willow insults Boscha, Luz and Gus shout "Oooooohhhhhhhhh!"
- This one references the Cap lifting Mjolnir scene from Avengers: Endgame.
- This Alador and Darius comic is one big Ace Attorney reference.
- Canon Luz and Beta Luz's reactions to Alpha Luz being able to do magic without glyphs is very similar to Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men finding out Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man can shoot webs without Web-Shooters.
- This comic featuring Eda censoring herself while scolding Hooty for getting mud in the house before realizing she can swear for real while alone is very similar to a scene from "Not What He Seems" from Gravity Falls, only Eda intentionally tries to swear to stop Luz from hiding so she can help her wash Hooty.
- An earlier comic also based on "Not What He Seems" shows someone coming out of a portal who Belos claims is the author of the "Good Witch Azura": Luz & Amity's future daughter.
- Even earlier, the shaggy-haired kid says "I welcome you, Death" as Vee and her friends are cornered by a demon.
- In the first panel of "Baby Outfit", Dipper's hat can be seen in the pile of Luz's old clothes.
- The video game seen here looks similar to Mario Kart.
- Amity voices how she doesn't understand public art.
- Willow and Hunter dress up as Ladybug and Chat Noir respectively for Halloween in one comic.
- In another comic set during Halloween, Vee hands out candy to three trick-or-treaters dressed as the Companion Cube, Kiki, and Godzilla.
- To help Luz's egg hatch, Luz and Amity (and later Camila) perform "Mr. Blue Sky".
- This comic has the Collector manifest the Hexsquad's worst fear to fight, much like Gozer allowing the Ghostbusters choose what form it takes to destroy them. It's even titled "Better Than A Giant Marshmallow Man".
- Luz convinces the Hexsquad to play Uno so they'll stop questioning why Hunter can't sink.
- The "Math Lady" meme is alluded to in this comic.
- "Disguise" sees Luz' Palisman Stringbean shapeshift into a variety of creatures, one of which being a Pikachu. Masha later asks Hunter to carve their palisman into said Pokémon.
- One comic has Luz, King, the Collector, and Hunter playing a video game called Plumber Kart. Hunter even uses a spiked blue shell on the Collector during a race.
- "...Totally What Happened" is one long reference to Jotaro's beating up Steely Dan, with Titan Luz acting as Jotaro, the Titan as her Stand, and Philip as Steely Dan, even having Luz drop a Light Glyph before walking away, much like how Jotaro dropped a "receipt" of how much pain he owed Steely Dan.
- This comic references the "Call an Ambulance, But Not for Me!" meme.
- Luz makes Hunter watch The Emperor's New Groove, hoping the "Wrong lever!" scene will break his poker face: it doesn't.
- "Intro" is one to MythBusters, with Mattholomule and Gus as the hosts of "Matt-Gustus", assisted by Hunter, Amity, Viney, and Selene.
- During a trip to the Human Realm, Hooty comes across a dancing noodle man and assumes it's challenging him to a fight; mistaking its movements for fighting poses, he declares "Finally! A worthy opponent! Our battle will be legendary!" He even curls his neck to mirror the same pose Tai Lung makes when he raises his fist.
- When Amity gives the mind-reading talisman that Odalia had planned to use on her to Hooty, one of Hooty's thoughts that Odalia subsequently gets bombarded with is "Reality is an illusion, buy gold!"
- The bonus panels for "Coming Home" recreate the botched reunion between Alex and Marty when they wash up on Madagascar, courtesy of Camila's Anger Born of Worry.
- In this strip, upon learning there is an alternate dimension with no pandemic, no wars, and honest politicians, Luz and Camila have this exchange:Camila: Wanna grab Vee and move there permanently?Luz: Do I?!
