To the point of Reference Overdosed, this romhack is full of it.

  • The ability icons:

  • The enemies and bosses:
    • One Waddle Doo variant is seen using horns and feet of the same color as the body, like a certain monster.
    • Hotheads are turned into Pyroheads, donning a gas mask.
    • Sparkies are replaced by Funkensteins.
    • Devil Cars are named after the enemies of the same name in EarthBound Beginnings.
    • Starmen enemies get redesigned to Starman SDX, referencing the enemies Starman Deluxe from EarthBound (1994). They also wear capes behind them, referencing the infamous "Papyrus is a Starman" theory from Game Theory.
    • Laser Balls sport a reddish jack-o-lantern face on their body, and are renamed as Ultrorbs.
    • Sword enemies are split as Bladeson Knight and Kruegord Knight, the former even debuting nearby a forest lake and the latter appearing on Stage 2 of Skull Street to drive the point home.
    • Meat Vineshrooms and Frozen Meats pay homage to Vinesauce's Meat character and logo.
    • Hopping Bio Sparks can be seen doing The Crane pose during their jumps.
    • Frosty Bones are intended as zombie versions of Mr. Frosty, but in-game they resemble sans undertale.
    • Mother Moth is designed after the urban legend of The Mothman.
    • Just like Sparkies, Bonkerstein is a homage to Frankenstein.
    • Tokkon is described as "scripulous" in 1.4's trailer, referencing the Scripulous Fingore hoax in New Super Mario Bros., calling to their status as a Dummied Out entity from another game.
    • Meta Knight is donning a costume lifted from Tuxedo Mask, right down to using the hat in game artwork and referencing one of his memes in the Spriters Resource sheet.
    • King Dedede is sporting a tuxedo and hat in this game, dressing up as The Penguin from Batman.
    • Nightmare Angel is an octahedron of Sinister Geometry inspirations, shaped just like Ramiel.
    • Nightmare Reaper is clearly based on The Grim Reaper, but the cloak and expressions are inspired by Skeletor.

  • The worlds and levels:
    • The secret room of Pumpkin Prairie 1 has many looming pillars with a grinning pumpkin on them.
    • As mentioned above, Pumpkin Prairie 3 ends with a zone intended to look like Crystal Lake.
    • The end of Stage 4 of Spooky Seaside is directly inspired by the prologue of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, complete with a fight on the circus train.
    • Stage 5 of Spooky Seaside tours Kirby through an underground gallery, inspired by the Ib's Guertena Gallery.
    • Stage 3 of Skull Street has the player take float in a flying circus, while the Clown face exterior is modeled after the Circus stage in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 in the game's artwork.
    • Later stages of Skull Street take their neon aesthetic from both Moonside and Yume Nikki's Neon World.
      • The last room of Skull Street is modeled after Madotsuki's apartment from the same game.
    • Mount Mist's alien aesthetic is mostly inspired by the movie Race to Witch Mountain, with the level starting on a mountain level whose level intro has a sign of an UFO.
      • The later stages take place on an Area 51 equivalent, with the number namedropped in signs of the level, as it was mostly inspired by the Area 51 raid meme from 2019.
    • Stage 3 of Hades Harbor shows a double sunset, just like A New Hope.
    • Hades Harbor 4 features a reddish sea palette on an ice world at dusk, with Zero Two looming in the distance, similar in manner as The End Of Evangelion's poster, accentuated in the artwork for that level.
    • Stage 5 of Hades Harbor uses a temple aesthetic taking place at night time with stars decorating the background, reminiscent of Saint Seiya's ending sequence.
    • Hades Harbor takes on a moonlit temple, referencing a location in Sailor Moon (particularly where the "My job here is done" meme takes place).
    • The arena with Nightmare Reaper has the face of Lilith's mask in the floor as moon craters.
