Decisiones extremas (Extreme Decisions) is a Colombian telenovela produced by the United States-based television network Telemundo and RTI Producciones as a sequel for the show Decisiones. Telemundo aired the series from Mondays to Fridays over about 26 weeks during the 2011 season. The Boston Herald called it "The Most Ridiculous Show of 2011".

Decisiones extremas provides examples of the following tropes:

  • A-Cup Angst: Lali from "Tren delantero" (Front Train) is bullied for not being as well endowed as other girls, driving her to begging her dad to give her breast implants.
  • Breast Attack: In a last ditch effort to get her breast implants, Lali asks her friend Perla to do this to her as the former has read in Internet that a woman who had suffered an accident had her chest reconstructed with silicone implants. Perla refuses to do it, so Lali decides to do it herself.
  • Cult: The episode "A Las Puertas del Paraíso" (At the Gates of Paradise) deals with its protagonist Sandra ending up joining one of these.
  • Darker and Edgier: This series is notably darker than the original Decisiones series. At best, the episodes end in a bittersweet or hard-earned note. At worst, the episodes end in a ray-of-hope or even downer note.
  • Dead Person Impersonation: The episode "A imagen y semejanza" (In Image and Likeness) provides an example where this is forced on a character. For starters, Esteban lured an unsuspecting young woman named Laura into marrying him. Then, he stages a fake home invasion to ruin Laura's face and thus have an excuse to perform reconstructive surgery on her to make her resemble his deceased wife Gloria.
  • Death by Woman Scorned: A rare male example. In "A imagen y semejanza", Gloria cheats on her husband Esteban with another man, which prompts Esteban to murder her before she could run away with said man.
  • Downer Beginning: The episode "Las pulseras del sexo" begins with a high school teacher finding a girl laying on the classroom floor with her uniform made a mess and the tights torn off, implying she was raped to death.
  • Driven to Suicide: In "Mala jugada", Horacio, after finding out his former friends didn't actually rape him, but pulled a rather tasteless prank on him, decides to kill himself with the gun he intended to use on his former friends after he's done torturing them.
  • Endangering News Broadcast: In "Falsa inocencia", when Paty comes forward to give her declaration about her alleged rape by DJ Jarx, already undermined by her friend's confession, she confesses it was all a ploy by her uncle Jorge, who runs off upon having his plan revealed. Naturally, Jorge gets jailed and charged with slander and extortion.
  • Evil Uncle: Jorge, Paty's uncle from "Falsa inocencia", an exploitative, ambitious bastard who uses his niece as a vehicle to fame for magazines to demolish the reputations of his targets for profit.
  • False Rape Accusation: The premise of "Falsa inocencia" (Fake Innocence) is that a teen girl named Patricia accuses a famous DJ of raping her, which slowly erodes his career. Later in the episode however, it actually wasn't her idea, but a ploy by her greedy, exploitative uncle Jorge. It's even implied he did this sorts of things before for profit.
  • Forced to Watch: In "A imagen y semejanza", after tying up Esteban to the bed in which he performed surgery on her, Laura takes advantage of her new appearance to bring the real Gloria's lover to kiss in front of him, only that he is unable to do anything about it but watch and scream.
  • I Have No Son!: In "Auto secuestro", Víctor gets on the receiving end of this after his sister dies in the back of the car in which he and his buddies held her hostage. His mother gives him the money gathered for the girl's ransom and then disowns him for his crimes.
Víctor's Mother: Piensa que, el día que mataste a tu hermana, también mataste a tu madre.note
  • Jailbait Taboo: In "Falsa inocencia", after DJ Jarx is accused of rape by Paty, her uncle Jorge exploits the fact she's a minor to further run the DJ's career into the ground. This is after he had her pass as an adult to stage said rape in the first place.
  • Make It Look Like a Struggle: Esteban from "A imagen y semejanza" stages a fake home invasion at night to have a convenient excuse to perform plastic surgery on Laura. The next day, the fake robbers punch Esteban first to make sure she doesn't suspect anything before they ruin her face and leave. But Laura eventually found out when she followed him to Gloria's grave and then stumbled upon the latter's lover.
  • Minor with Fake I.D.: In the episode "Cero en conducta" (not to mistake with the series of the same name), Julieta and Paula, two teenagers, enter a nightclub with these. When the bouncer finds out, Julieta uses her assets to get her in.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: In "Las pulseras del sexo", Camila is horrified that her sister Rebeca took all the rubber wristbands she used for the episode's title game because she saw Andrés wearing them, without knowing about said game around them, which led to the rape aftermath at the beginning.
  • Playing the Victim Card: In "Niños criando niños", Fernanda accuses Toño of this when he blathers about how he loved his baby daughter Celeste and would apologize to her for all he done while in custody for parental neglect. However, she is right: when Celeste was still living, he showed himself to be a selfish, immature, chauvinistic, and even abusive prick earlier on in the episode.
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: In "Niños criando niños", Fernanda decides to leave her lazy, chauvinistic boyfriend Toño to rot in prison for all his faults. He doesn't take it well and starts really crying his eyes out for her as the guards keep him from leaving.
  • Posthumous Character: Gloria from "A imagen y semejanza", since Esteban already murdered her for cheating on him.
  • Prank Gone Too Far: At the end of "Mala jugada" (Bad Play), it turns out that Horacio's friends didn't actually rape him, but pulled a prank on him by pouring egg white into his boxers, ignorant of the consequences this would bring to them in the long run.
  • Put on a Prison Bus: Implied in "Falsa inocencia", as Paty narrates that after her confessions, her uncle Jorge ended up in jail for charges of slander and extortion.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Horacio from "Mala jugada" goes into a vengeful frenzy after thinking he was raped by his former friends in the party they threw last night. It's rendered meaningless when Horacio watches the video of said party, finding out that what he mistook for semen in his boxers athe beginning of the episode was actually egg white.
  • Silent Whisper: In "Las pulseras del sexo", Camila whispers the meaning of the red wristband to her friend when she was about to snap it from a guy. It turns out, the red wristband means sex without a condom.
  • Tap on the Head: In "A imagen y semejanza", Laura smacks Esteban's mom to secretly follow him and escape.
  • Teen Pregnancy:
    • This is what kickstarts the plot of "Niños criando niños" (Kids Raising Kids). Fernanda and her boyfriend Toño struggle to raise their baby Celeste. While Fernanda struggles and tries her best to ensure Celeste's survival, Toño never bothers to tend to his daughter, only to keep partying and slacking around. It all comes to an end when the couple goes to party at a nightclub after Toño fed Celeste a bottle of alcohol to keep her from crying, inadvertently killing her.
      • At the end, when Fernanda returns with her mother, it's revealed that both of them know Fernanda is expecting another baby from Toño, but she didn't tell him since she knows that what happened to Celeste would happen to her upcoming baby too. Fernanda worries she will have to raise it alone this time, only for her mother to assure she will help.
    • In the episode "Falsa Inocencia", Paty becomes pregnant with DJ Jarx, of whom she's a biggest fan.
  • Villainous Breakdown: At the end of "A imagen y semejanza", Esteban becomes completely insane as he watches Laura (who he surgically changed into his dead wife Gloria) making out with the real Gloria's lover in front of him as revenge for her forced plastic surgery.
Esteban: (watching Laura-turned-Gloria kissing the real Gloria's lover) No... No. NO! NO! ¡NO, GLORIA! ¡NOOOOO! ¡NO POR FAVOR! ¡NO! ¡NOOO! (breaks down crying)
  • Wild Teen Party: The episode "Mala jugada" starts with the aftermath of one in which a hungover Horacio has his face slathered in makeup, wearing a bra stuffed with toilet paper, and his jeans unbuttoned.
