Characters.UTAU: Riyona Himekishi
- Ascended Extra: Riyona also makes a playable appearance in the Strip Fighter series, also developed by StudioS. Her moveset consists of a mix of sword attacks and lightning magic.
- Cool Sword: She sports what appears to be a spatha sword, fitting the “knight” half of “Princess Knight”.
- Meaningful Name: Her name translates to “princess knight”, and “Riyona” is a pretty clear play on ryona. Her name is even rendered as such.
- Onee-sama: Official material describes as having an “older sister” type of personality and voice range.
- Shock and Awe: At least in her Strip Fighter IV appearance, where she uses a variety of lightning-based attacks in combat.
- Stripperiffic: Riyona’s early design is this in spades, consisting of a Chainmail Bikini that only covers her nipples and leaves the rest of her breasts and torso exposed, and an equally tiny (and oddly phallic-appearing) piece of armor covering her crotch “covered” by an extremely thin (and visibly torn) veil skirt.
- Vague Age: Riyona has no confirmed age, though most fans assume her to be somewhere over 18.
- Warrior Prince: She isn’t called “Princess Knight Riyona” for no reason! Most of her non-erotic lines consist of various attacks and thrusts, and if her Strip Fighter moveset is anything to go by, she won't go down without a fight.

Tropes:
- Age Lift: In accordance with most of Splatoon’s canon, the all adult Mario characters have been aged down to teenagers, with Luigi and Rosalina as the youngest of the group at fifteen years old.
- Badass Adorable: Practically everyone, but special mention is given to three characters in particular:
- Luigi, serving as this universe’s Agent 8, is kind, innocent, curious, and generally an All-Loving Hero. He’s also a trained teenage soldier who’s quick on his feet, can hold his own in combat, and took down a genocidal AI with his own hands (and some assistance from Off the Hook, of course).
- Peach (or Hime) is a Spoiled Sweet Class Princess who regularly makes handmade chocolates to sell at school on Valentine’s Day, and often dotes on her best friends simply because she can. She looks prissy and nonthreatening on the surface… until you learn that she’s also an X-ranked competitive player who’s deadly with a Splatterscope.
- And finally, there’s Rosalina. The quiet wallflower in the back of the class… who also happens to be a former Elite Octoling.
- Innocently Insensitive: Us Two, On an Adventure has Mario make an offhand comment about Octolings only wearing boots as footwear and how uncomfortable that might be, though he quickly walks his statement back after considering the possibility of accidentally offending Luigi (an Octoling). For the most part this only gets a raised eyebrow from him (and even then, it’s out of confusion rather than genuine offense).
- Mythology Gag: Several to both original series, starting with the fact that both video game series still exist in this world, and the fact that this world’s Mario and Luigi pick up that they’re directly named after (and even resemble) their canon counterparts.
- Original Character: Kasai, the only non-transplanted Mario character of the cast who mainly serves as an NPC of sorts. He’s only shown interacting with the cast as a cashier at MakoMart (aside from an offhand appearance in Day Two).
- Ship Tease: A fair bit between Luigi and Daisy, though it never comes to fruition. Luigi is Oblivious to Love as a whole, while Daisy is also harboring feelings for him and Hime. “Disaster bisexual”, indeed.
- Trauma Button: Breaking Point reveals that blenders are a major trauma button for Luigi, and how Mario learns this in the worst way possible.
- Unrelated in the Adaptation: Mario and Luigi aren’t blood siblings in this universe— though it’s regularly stated that they’re so close they might as well be.
