Sandbox / Ass Kicking Pant Legs

Go To

Big pant legs are a visual staple of many an Extremity Extremist, Kick Chick, and kick specialists of all walks of life. The silhouette of the legs will draw more attention that part of the character's body and enhance the power and flow of their kick attacks.

This can be seen in motion with Taekwondo uniforms (also known as dobok), as the style is very kick-oriented, as well as other styles like Capoeira which emphasize sweeping, dance-like motions. As such, a work's resident expert in the aforementioned martial arts will have this trope on display.

This trope is meant to refer to characters who are known for their emphasis on specifically kicking. While other martial artists might have similar outfits, the examples should be only used if the kicking is a key element.

This trope can overlap with Long Pants.

    Video Games
  • A possible Trope Codifier would be Kim Kaphwan of Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters fame. A taekwondo legend, Kim is always recognizable by his white and blue uniform with massively stretched out pant legs. In game, his animations have a lot of detail around the pant legs, with lots of attention on the ebb and flow of the cloth in that area. An entire analysis is dedicated to the animation of Kim's pants specifically and how they enhance his kicking attacks. Kim's pupils Jhun Hoon and May Lee, as well as his sons Jae Hoon and Dong Hwan, also possess very pronounced pant legs, and are taekwondo experts in their own right to boot.
  • Guilty Gear:
    • Jack-O Valentine, one of Guilty Gears key Kick Chicks, where's a pair of white bellbottoms that really emphasisze the bottom of her legs. Most of her normals, barring punches, rely on acrobatic kicks along with a ball-and-chain tied to her ankle for flailing attacks.
    • Giovanna, introduced in STRIVE, is a gruff bodyguard in dress pants with massive pant legs. Her kicks are further enhanced by her Canine Companion, Rei, a familiar that enhances the strength of her attacks.
  • Juri Han, the resident Taekwondo combatant of Street Fighter where's the pants of a trinational dobok with pink accents. Her violent, erratic kicking style is enhanced by the silhouette of her pants, with the rest of her frame being quite slim by comparison.
