Roleplay / League of Anime Wrestling

Go To

League of Anime Wrestling or LAW is a Play-by-Post Game forum about anime characters wrestling each other. It features not only original characters, but also expies from various anime media or in some cases, the characters from said series themselves.

The forum started out at mid 2017, and it is seen as an alternative of another wrestling roleplay forum, the long-running AFW, where the membership of both sites seems to overlap. Nevertheless, after its inception, LAW has become somewhat distinct compared to AFW while still sharing similar core roleplay mechanics.

Like AFW, while there is no overarching plot, there are a lot of subplots regarding individual wrestlers, just like Professional Wrestling itself. Also, besides featuring Fanservice, as expected from a Forum Role Play about hot anime girls wrestling each other in a suggestive manner, LAW also features hentai matches, a type of wrestling where victory is achieved by bringing one's opponent into orgasm(s).

Just like AFW, this forum is Not Safe for Work.

Despite the lewd nature of the forum, there is a surprising amount of players who are more interested in the wrestling itself. As most players who participate in the forum are fans of wrestling, the matches are surprisingly insightful and while the results of the matches are mostly scripted (just like your typical Professional Wrestling), it is something that is decided between players, which makes it engaging for the readers. There are numerous matches to be read, so please expect Archive Panic! As a result, and because the site is constantly updating, this page will not be comprehensive.

It can be found here, and once again, be warned that the forum itself is very Not Safe for Work!

League of Anime Wrestling contains examples of:

  • A-Cup Angst: Yuki Kazikura is extremely self-conscious about her small breasts. Unfortunately for her, her bare breasts have been exposed in several of her matches.
  • Action Girl: Being a series that features female wrestlers, this is inevitable.
  • Animeland: While never acknowledged in-universe, the world of LAW is definitely this. It's even in the title.
  • Badass Adorable: Inevitable, considering that most wrestlers here are cute girls who are capable of suplexing each other with ease.
  • Beach Episode: Rather inevitably in a community like this, there have been a few beach-themed events, to say nothing of one-off beach matches.
  • Character Blog: One of the most active sections of the forum is "LAW Twitter," in which users post (program-generated) tweets from their characters.
  • Cool Mask: Some of the luchadora.
  • Crossover: Characters from Wrestle Angels, Rumble Roses, and Wanna Be the Strongest in the World! are also present in the forum. To say nothing of the various expies of fighters from other games or shows, some of which are treated like the same people.
  • Ensemble Cast: A given, due to the nature of the forum. A single member is allowed to have multiple characters, though they are expected to make use of those characters.
  • Leotard of Power: LAW certainly has no shortage for the girls having this kind of attire.
  • Mud Wrestling: Given that it's a wrestling roleplay that runs on the Rule of Sexy, it goes without saying that this would be a popular gimmick match. And in addition to mud, there's plenty of matches that use oil, gelatin, whipped cream...
  • Oh, Crap, There Are Fanfics of Us!: Shiori Takeda moderates a community for LAW fanfiction. A number of wrestlers were alarmed to find what was being written about them.
  • Pro Wrestling Is Real: Kayfabe is absent here, and everything in pro-wrestling is Serious Business. There are times when this trope is discussed, lampshaded, played with and so on, but definitely not averted.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Due to the Heavyweight Championship match at We Are LAW 3 taking an extended delay partway through, the match wasn't finished being written until close to a year after it started, which meant that Astrid Ostberg's first title defense was at We Are LAW 4. To explain this, in-universe she took the belt on a tour through independent promotions in Europe.
  • Rule of Cool: LAW seems to adhere to this rule. Something that rarely happens in Real Life can become a common occurrence in LAW, though there are limits on how cool things can go, as while cool things are allowed, they must still be grounded in reality.
  • Rule of Sexy: There are certain events that happened in-universe that made hentai matches in wrestling possible, up to the point where almost nobody bats an eye at the constant lewdness happening not only in LAW, but also the rest of the world.
  • Tokyo Is the Center of the Universe: Although its talent comes from all over the world, LAW is based in Tokyo, with most of its matches happening there. Their first major show outside Japan was Fight The LAW in 2021, which was held in Long Beach, California.
  • Translation Convention: Inevitable, given that it's an English-language forum with the action primarily set in Japan. It varies from user to user as to whether characters are assumed to be speaking English or Japanese that's written as English for user benefit.
  • World of Action Girls: Male wrestlers exist here, but female wrestlers simply dominate the roster.
  • World of Buxom: More than a handful of the girls wrestling in LAW are quite stacked.
  • World of Technicolor Hair: To put an emphasis in Anime in the title, it's only natural that more than a handful characters have unnatural hair color. Also a way to indicate that the setting of this forum is in Animeland.
