  • Doraemon: Nobita's Treasure Island: The adventure is kicked off when Nobita heard about the story of Treasure Island and wants to be a pirate captain himself. And then the gang accidentally enters a time warp and ends up in the future, ruled by pirates - whose captain is named Silver.

  • The Pagemaster: The main characters are caught by Long John Silver and his band of pirates.

  • Blade Runner 2049: Deckard quotes Ben Gunn's musings about cheese upon meeting Officer K, who recognizes the Treasure Island reference.
  • Carry On Dick: Michael Nightingale's character was called "Squire Trelawney".
  • La Comunidad: Domínguez fittingly sings the Dead Man's Chest shanty while digging into the trash inside the apartment of the deceased man to look for his MacGuffin Full of Money.
  • Mission to Mars: Luke's son is worried about him going to Mars and is nonplussed at the prospect of not being able to finish reading Treasure Island together. It's also Foreshadowing Luke ending up stranded alone on the red planet and going almost insane from the isolation akin to Ben Gunn.
  • The Neverending Story: Bastian namedrops Treasure Island as one of the many books he's read upon Mr. Koreander doubting that he's into literature.
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Various, scattered throughout the series. Barbossa's We Named the Monkey "Jack" in the first film, and Gibbs singing the Dead Man's Chest song in the second just to name a couple.

Literature

  • Asperger Adventures: When Aunt Hannah quotes "Make the most of the best and the least of the worst," Lisa says, "I know him! He wrote Treasure Island."
  • Just David: In chapter 9, the narrator mentions David had a Treasure Island book.
  • Peter Pan: Captain Hook claims to be "the only man whom Barbecue feared, and Flint feared Barbecue." Flint is, of course, Captain Flint, and Barbecue is Silver's nickname as a cook.
  • In Thora, Treasure Island is one of the books Mr. Walters gives Thora to read.

Webcomics

  • Girl Genius has Captain Jeanne Hawkins, an honest cargo-hauler who dresses as a pirate to pay homage to her parents (both of them pirates).
  • Hark! A Vagrant: A pirate tells another he's there to give him the black mark. As the older pirate complains that's something Treasure Island made up and isn't real his murderer shoots him in the back and talks about how embarrassing the faux pax of thinking it a real tradition was.

Western Animation

  • Animalia: Characters make a theater play based on the story in Alex's Treasure Island.
  • Ready Jet Go!: In "Treasure Map", Mitchell reads the book and is inspired to dig for buried treasure in his backyard. Wanting to make him happy, Jet and Sunspot make a map and a treasure chest for Mitchell to find.
  • The Simpsons: In "Bart Gets an F", Bart gives a book report on Treasure Island, but it's clear he didn't get as far as the cover when Mrs. Krabappel asks him to name the pirate and Bart is at a loss.
