    Anime & Manga
  • Starzinger: Princess Aurora has the same name as the title character of ''Sleeping Beauty'. She also has long, blonde hair and primarily wears a pink Simple, yet Opulent gown. Her Arch-Enemy, Queen Lacets, looks like Maleficient.

    Comic Strips
  • Off the Mark: In this strip, Princess Aurora appears alongside other cartoon characters at the Betty Rubble Center For Recovering Toons.

    Fan Works
  • Everyday Craziness in Pontypandy: In the epilogue of "Lift Life", the fire service learn that the woman they saved named her baby after them. The baby's middle name is Penrose, for Penny and Briar; Briar is puzzled until they realize the connection: Briar Rose.

    Films — Animated
  • Beauty and the Beast: The dance between Belle and the Prince in the finale is reused animation of the dance between Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip. This was done because the animators were running out of time during the production of the movie.
  • Brother Bear 2: Towards the beginning of the film, Nita's aunts bicker about which hair style is better for her in a similar way to how the fairies argue about which color Aurora's dress should be.
  • Cars: Mater greets Lightning McQueen with, "Mornin', Sleepin' Beauty!".
  • The Lion King 1 ½: At the end of the film, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather are among the many Disney characters who enter the theater to see the film after Timon's mother rewinds it.
  • Ralph Breaks the Internet: Aurora shows up alongside the other Disney Princesses during the Oh My Disney section. In addition, a poster for Sleeping Beauty can be seen on the Disney Animation booth.
  • Shrek: Among the fairy-tale creatures that were exiled to Shrek's swamp are three fairies who resemble Flora, Fauna and Merryweather.
  • Wish (2023):
    • In the wish granting ceremony, Magnifico grants the wish of a woman who wants to be a dressmaker. The dress she is envisioned making resembles the one worn by Aurora, and when the wish is granted, a pair of magic scissors cut a length of floating fabric, referencing how Flora used magic to make the dress.
    • Asha's family lives in a cabin in the woods, which resembles the one where the fairies raised Aurora as Briar Rose.
    • The dark magic wielded by Magnifico looks like the green flames associated with Maleficent. During the climax, it envelops the city of Rosas like the forest of thorns Maleficent summons to stop Philip.

    Films — Live-Action

    Literature
  • In Ana on the Edge, Lydia choreographs a program for figure skater Ana that requires her to skate to one of the songs from Sleeping Beauty while wearing a princess dress. Ana's discomfort with both the routine and her costume help her realize that she's nonbinary. In the end, Alex helps her modify the choreography so that for half the program she plays Aurora, and for the other half she plays Phillip.

    Live Action TV
  • The Real O'Neals: Maleficent appears to Kenny as his Bad Angel, with Jesus as the Good Angel.
  • Saturday Night Live: A TV Funhouse sketch spoofing the "Disney Vault" features a scene from a fake Direct-to-Video sequel, Sleeping Beauty III: Li'l Sleepy Meets Aladdin.

    Video Games
  • Dragon Quest: The very first game's villain, the Dragonlord, resembles Maleficent, right down to transforming into a dragon during the final battle.
  • In the Jeopardy! Licensed Game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, one of the questions in the "Frosty Flicks" category is "In a Disney cartoon, she falls under the evil spell of Queen Malificent". Erroneously, the correct answer is "Snow White".note
  • Maleficent's goons appear as enemies in Mickey Mouse II for the Game Boy.
  • In the North American version of Mickey Mousecapade, Maleficent appears as the Final Boss of the game.
  • The dorm Diasomnia in Twisted Wonderland and associated characters are explicitly based on this film, with the dorm leader Malleus Draconia based on Maleficent.

    Web Videos
  • The Nostalgia Critic:
    • In his "Top 11 Disney Villains" video, Maleficent is placed in the #2 spot.
    • In his review of The Swan Princess, the Critic accuses the scene of Odette and Derek dancing together which transitions from a castle to the clouds of ripping off the ending scene to Sleeping Beauty.
  • Phelous: While reviewing the Jetlag Productions version of Sleeping Beauty, Phelous makes a few comparisons to the Disney film, such as how Felicity has seven fairies attend her christening, while Aurora only had three.

    Western Animation
  • MAD: The sketch "F-I-E-N-D-S" features Maleficent.
  • Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (2023): During the photo shoot in “Moon Girl’s Day Off”, one of the scenes is a recreation of the climax with Casey (as Moon Girl) as Phillip and Devil as Dragon Maleficent.
  • Muppet Babies (1984): The episode "Slipping Beauty" spoofs the film.
  • Robot Chicken:
    • A sketch from "Super Guitario Center" has Prince Phillip awaken Princess Aurora, only for her to tell her the weird dream she had when she was asleep, going into every detail. Upon hearing this, Prince Phillip screams into a pillow.
    • The final sketch from "Stone Cold Steve Cold Stone" has the Disney Princesses having engaged in a civil war, with Aurora being on the "traditional" side. Aurora tries to get out of the fight by saying she's sleepy, but Snow White tells her not to pull that trick. Just as Aurora tells Snow White she's just kidding, she is then killed by Tiana's arrow.
    • The final sketch from "May Cause Internal Diarrhea" has Prince Phillip text Princess Aurora, only for her not to respond to his texts due to being put under Maleficent's sleeping spell.
  • The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show: One of the show's "Fractured Fairy Tale" segments parodies the story, portraying the prince as an obvious parody of Walt Disney himself. Rather than wake Sleeping Beauty with a kiss, he builds an amusement park around her called "Sleeping Beauty Land". Reportedly, Walt was not amused, which may explain why one episode ended with a live-action Bullwinkle puppet telling the viewers that he has to leave because "Mr. Disney just came into the studio with a baseball bat."
  • Steven Universe: Sapphire and Ruby do the same dance in the forest as Aurora and Phillip do during "Once Upon a Dream".
  • Timon & Pumbaa: Dragon Maleficent makes a cameo in the episode "Guatemala Malarkey".
