• Friday Night Lights: In the first season episode "Extended Families", Buddy, who's staying at the Taylor's house temporarily, finds out Eric has been meeting with someone from another school about a possible job thanks to tracing what was written on a notepad, which he says he learned from watching Magnum.

• The sixth level of Vectorman 2 is titled "Magma P.I.".

Western Animation

• Archer homaged the famous "Did you see the sunrise this morning?" scene. Archer himself filmed the whole thing and showed to his coworkers.
• Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers: Dale's outfit is a red and yellow Hawaiian shirt, not unlike Mangnum's signature outfit.
• In Daria episode "Murder, She Snored", Daria at one point sports a red Hawaiian shirt while the theme song plays in the background.
• Ready Jet Go! has an episode called "Magnet PI".
• The Simpsons: The first segment of "The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase", "Chief Wiggum, P.I.", is heavily inspired by the series.
