Video Games

  • Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain:
    • In the mission "The White Mamba", Snake is tasked with capturing Eli, the leader of a group of African Child Soldiers who have taken over a village and driven off all the adults. When confronting Eli in his makeshift headquarters, a pig's head can be seen laying on a table in the middle of the room, and the boy himself happens to be carrying a conch shell on his hip.
    • One of the child soldiers who is taken to Mother Base for rehabilitation is named Ralph.
    • After Eli and the boys under his command escape from Mother Base and take Metal Gear Sahelanthropus with them, they establish their own civilization on a remote island and use Sahelanthropus as a deterrent from retaliation. • The Amazing World of Gumball: In "The Blame", the kids are forbidden by their parents from playing video games because they are "too violent", and tell them that they should be reading books instead. • The Simpsons: "Dad Bus" has Bart, Lisa, and all the other elementary school kids stranded on an island when their bus goes off a bridge. The whole plot is a reference to the story, having the kids debate on having rules or not.
