Films — Live-Action

  • The Dark Knight: The opening bank heist scene is a homage to Heat, as is the Casting Gag of William Fichtner as the bank manager.
  • Rushmore: Max buys dynamite late in the movie, and as he flashes his ID, Max asks, "Could you make the order out to Ready Demolition, Tucson, Arizona?", which is a line from Val Kilmer's first scene in Heat.

Live-Action TV

  • NUMB3RS episode "Atomic No". 33, Robin, Don's girlfriend, is surprised that Heat isn't his favorite movie. It is Sullivan's Travels.

Video Games

  • PAYDAY: The Heist: The song that plays during the First World Bank heist, "Gun Metal Grey", is strikingly similar to the music that plays in Heat during the bank robbery. Fitting, as practically the whole game is an homage to the movie or at least heavily inspired by it.
    • The game's sequel, PAYDAY 2 goes further with the references by adding the "Hockey Heat" mask and the Transport Heist DLC, with the promotional material for the latter all being huge references to the movie.
  • Grand Theft Auto V is heavily inspired by Heat due to it's focus on various high-stakes heists, with protagonists Michael and Trevor being clearly based on Neil and Waingro respectively.
