  • And Then I Said: While Tristan and Tea are guarding the virtual world pods with Yugi, Kaiba, Joey, and Mokuba in them, the Hair Guy and several other guards approach the duo while in the middle of a conversation.
The Hair Guy: And so then I said "Attention, duelists!" Man, you should've been there.
  • Big "NO!": The Big Five let out one as Yami, Kaiba, and Joey defeat them in a duel.
  • Easily Forgiven: All it takes for Kaiba to forgive the Big Five is them merely claiming that they were pretending to work for Pegasus (though Kaiba does say he's still sore about them trying to kill him).
  • Idiot Ball: Kaiba falls for the rather obvious trap that the Big Five set up for him. Mokuba wastes no time calling him out for it.
Mokuba: Wait, Seto! It's clearly a trap! Why're you being so gullible and out of character?
  • Repeating So the Audience Can Hear: Parodied when Mokuba tells the others what happened to his brother.
    Yugi: Your brother's been kidnapped?!
  • Serious Business: Kaiba is unfettered by the Big Five kidnapping his brother, planning on taking over his company, and even attempting to kill him. But devising a plan to have all video games banned? That's when they've gone too far.
  • Shout-Out:
    • There are a few references to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time:
      • Upon entering the virtual world, the gang encounters a fairy that repeatedly shouts "Hey! Listen!" It pisses the gang off enough that they try to kill it.
      • Joey summons the eponymous ocarina in order to resurrect the ancient flying machine.
    • When the Big Five monitor the gang as they're inside the virtual world, the Super Mario Bros. theme plays in the background. By extension, the "game over" theme from said game plays during the credits.
    • "Rock the Dragon" plays as the gang battle and defeat the Big Five inside the virtual world, who have taken the form of a five-headed dragon.
  • Skewed Priorities: Yugi and the gang are more concerned about Princess Adena's Ambiguous Gender (On account of the fact that she basically looks like Mokuba in a dress) than the fact that her kingdom is in danger.
  • Take That!: Joey remarks that the virtual world game was "more disappointing than Fable."
  • Waxing Lyrical: When Tristan and Tea notice several guards approaching them, they quote the song "Trouble" by Shampoo.
Tristan: Uh-oh. We're in trouble. Something's come along and it's burst our bubble.
    Tea: Yeah, yeah.
