Penny's relatives arrive for the christening of her baby siblings, but Oscar's lower class cousins and Trudy's wealthy relatives don't get along. It's up to Penny and her cousins, Chanel and Ray Ray Jr., to knock some sense into the adults.

Tropes

  • Actually Pretty Funny: Even with both sides of the family putting aside their own egos towards the episodes end, Oscar still insists that Sugar Mama tackling Maureen during football was hilarious. The first display of respect her husband Dr. Parker gives Oscar is agreeing with him on this.
  • Ate It All: Ray Ray Jr. and S'mo together eat the dinner spread that Trudy made for the family. Trudy also mentions that at their wedding Ray Ray and Bounetta ate the entire cake before it was cut.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: After both their families leave and refuse to go the baptism if the other family is going, Trudy and Oscar have an argument and make valid points about how the other's families are at fault. Trudy is correct about how the Prouds can be obnoxious, destructive, and gluttonous. Oscar is also right about how the Parkers think they're so superior and treat people, especially him, with little to no respect.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: Penny does to all of the adults the moment they start arguing in the church, with Chanel and Ray Ray Jr. backing her up.
  • Children Are Innocent: Penny, Chanel, and Ray Ray Jr. are the only ones who don't fall into the bickering the adults get caught up in.
  • Exiled to the Couch: A variation. After both families leave, Oscar, blamed by Trudy as the direct cause of the feud, has to sleep out in the tent on a rainy night as a punishment and gets a nasty surprise visit from a skunk. It is implied that Penny placed the skunk in there as a distraction.
  • Gilligan Cut: When Oscar claims that it's his house and he won't be sleeping in a tent, the next scene cuts to him being in a tent.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: As snobbish as Maureen was, she was right to refute Bounetta's instance that Ray Ray Jr. never takes things that aren't his by pointing out how he and S'mo ate dinner that was meant for the whole family.
  • Never My Fault: Rather "Never My Kids' Fault"; Ray Ray tries to blame Penny for taking a long time to say grace (which lasted less than a minute) rather than just admit his sons are in the wrong for eating all the food that was meant for everyone.
  • Obnoxious In-Laws: Trudy's parents are openly disdainful of Oscar. Her father demands Oscar refer to him as "Dr. Parker," and Trudy's mother is disappointed they haven't divorced yet.
  • Pet the Dog: Unlike the rest of Trudy's family, her brother Reuben is much more pleasant to Oscar. He even lets him try out his telepathic SUV.
  • Screw Politeness, I'm a Senior!: Although most of the relatives are seen butting heads, Trudy's father Vincent in particular comes off as generally cantankerous.
  • Slobs vs. Snobs: The main conflict between the families, Oscar's cousins being the Slobs and Trudy's relatives being the Snobs.
  • Special Guest: Has the most out of all the show.
  • Younger Than They Look: S'mo Proud is so big that Trudy's sisters initially think he's a teenager, despite him being ten months old. Dijonay even tries flirting with him.
