Go To

The Louds and the Casagrandes fight over which of them Lori and Bobby should spend their Thanksgivings with.

"The Loudest Thanksgiving"

  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Lisa's gravy bot ends up going rogue and first spilling gravy on Lori's bed, and later on pretty much everyone during the Thanksgiving dinner.
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Mr. Loud. He literally falls to the ground, grabs Lori's legs, and tearfully begs her not to go to the Casagrandes.
  • Big Damn Kiss: After three seasons of "almost but not quite", Bobby and Lori get their first onscreen kiss on the lips.
  • A Bloody Mess: In a flashback, Ronnie Anne and Bobby think their mother is covered in blood, but it's actually cranberry sauce from the Thanksgiving dinner.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: This special has Flip narrate to the audience about the Louds and Casagrandes having Thanksgiving, and how he resolved their issue with Bobby and Lori being away from them.
  • Continuity Nod: Lana and Lola are seen wearing security gear once again.
  • Cut-and-Paste Note: Lola leave a cut and paste note for Lori to meet them in the kitchen on the front door.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Lily in her turkey costume and how cute she is. They build their family skit around the concept.
  • Dance Party Ending: The musical members of both families play a Latin-flavored rock tune to celebrate the families finally making peace and making friends.
  • Dinner and a Show: As the Louds and Casagrandes are seated at the dinner table, Lynn Sr. and Rosa start butting heads with eachother as they serve ridiculous amounts of food to Lori and Bobby. Things only become worse from there which causes the latter two to leave the house.
  • Exact Eavesdropping: How both families discover their teenager in love is considering spending Thanksgiving with the other's family. In the Casagrandes' households, the eavesdropping shamelessly is a Running Gag.
  • Faint in Shock: Happens to Bobby in a flashback, where he sees his mom covered in what he believes to be blood. It's actually cranberry sauce.
  • Feuding Families: The Louds and the Casagrandes compete with each other in the latter half of the episode. Starting with Rosa being Crazy-Prepared with food for the dinner, dueling Thanksgiving acts, to a downright Food Fight.
  • Foil: Each of the Louds, except for Lana and Lola, talk with each of their Casagrande counterparts at Flip’s Food and Fuel. Hector even lampshades this when he and Luna sing that they’re two different families but they have so much in common.
    • Lori and Bobby: Not just because they’re an Official Couple, but also they’re both clumsy and the most emotional kids of their respective families.
    • Lincoln and Ronnie Anne: Not only because they’re close, but also, they’re the strategists of their own families.
    • Leni and Carlota: The Fashionista’s of their families.
    • Lisa and Carlos: The geniuses of their families.
    • Lynn Sr. and Rosa: The Supreme Chef’s of their families.
    • Lily and Carlitos: Each of them is The Baby of the Bunch in their families.
    • Rita and Frida: They act as the Team Mom of their families.
    • Lynn Jr. and Carl: The rude ones of their families who are associated with Red.
    • Lucy and CJ: They’re both the weird ones of their families.
    • Luna and Hector: They’re both the musicians of their families.
    • Luan and Maria: Mostly to Pair the Spares but they’re both Nice Girl’s who are associated with light colors.
  • Food as Bribe: Both the Louds and the Casagrandes use the Thanksgiving food to bribe Lori and Bobby, respectively, to spend Thanksgiving with their own family.
  • Foodfight!: The feud between the Louds and the Casagrandes eventually results in this, ruining both family's thanksgiving dinner.
  • Garbage Hideout: Lana hides in the kitchen trash can when guarding the fridge.
  • It's All About Me: When asked to find a picture of Lori and Bobby together to put on the table, Lola brings a picture of herself with Lori and Bobby in the background.
  • Jerkass Ball: Both families gradually get hostile with each other to win Lori and Bobby's affections.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Flip proves that he does in fact have a heart when he helps resolve the Thanksgiving feud, gives Ronnie Anne and CJ plenty of cans for their food drive and even tears up when the two families share a song.
  • Jerkass Realization: Happens to the Louds and Casagrandes after Lori and Bobby call them out for their fighting.
  • Literal-Minded: Leni, as usual. When told to put a leaf in the table, she literally puts a tree's leaf on the table.
  • Running Gag: Lincoln trying to find a way to stay awake long enough to get dessert. The other frequently running gags are abandoned for this full length episode.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Lori and Bobby eventually run off to Flip's after their the feud between their families proves too much for them to handle.
  • Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: Upon overhearing that Lori and Bobby want to spend Thanksgiving together, the Louds and the Casagrandes decide to try and make Lori and Bobby believe that if they ever leave, life at their houses won't be the same. Then, they become even more clingy, trying to get Lori and Bobby to decide which family they want to spend the rest of their Thanksgivings with. Finally, when the competition descends into a Food Fight, Lori and Bobby do exactly as their respective families feared: leave them to spend Thanksgiving together.
  • Shout-Out: The license plate on the Casagrandes' car is "A113". A113 was the classroom number used by character animation students at the California Institute of the Arts. Many of its alumni (including Pixar staff) have used the number in their professional works. It is said to appear in some way, shape, or form in every Pixar film.
  • Split Screen: The Louds and Casagrandes are separated by distance so whenever Bobby and Lori share a call, this happens.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Flip is the one to suggest in the end to just rotate the hosting of Thanksgiving between the Louds and the Casagrandes.
  • The Stool Pigeon: When Lori calls out her family for eavesdropping on her, Lynn Sr. holds Lincoln in front of him and says that he told them. Lincoln does not take it well.
  • Strange Minds Think Alike:
    • The Louds and the Casagrandes both express the exact same fears when they hear that Bobby and Lori want to spend Thanksgiving together.
    • Both Lisa and Carlos use tracking devices to keep track of Lori and Bobby, respectively.
  • Take a Third Option: Lori and Bobby threaten to spend future Thanksgivings by themselves, a compromise that doesn't satisfy anybody, until their families reconcile. Flip then tells them they can alternate every year.
  • Thanksgiving Episode: This episode focus on the Louds and the Casagrandes having Thanksgiving together, while competing who's the better family to have Thanksgiving with.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Flip is mostly just a self-centered scumbag but here, he actually ends up likable as he helps resolve the issue between the Louds and the Casagrandes-Santiagos and donates some canned foods to C.J.'s charity.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Lori and Bobby do this to their families, calling them out on their competitive behavior.
