Scratch is looking forward to Sart Duan Sib, a Thai festival involving food offerings left for hungry ghosts. But thanks to his friend Geoff's big mouth, he might not be able to enjoy the feast by himself.

Tropes:

  • Bad "Bad Acting": Molly unconvincingly pretends to be scared of Scratch so the Ghost Council doesn't find out Scratch is fraternizing with humans.
Scratch: Woah, that was close. Also your acting, a little over the top.
  • Bears Are Bad News: In a cut showing them on their camping trip, Pete and Sharon are getting attacked by a very large and very angry bear.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Thanks to Geoff's big mouth and Scratch's inability to hide his plate of snacks from the Ghost Council, the other ghosts ate Grandma Nin's delicious meal. When they leave, he dissolves into Inelegant Blubbering how his selfishness backfired against him and he hasn't had a bite all day. Grandma Nin feels bad for him, and promises to order his favorite pizza as a Consolation Prize. Scratch cheers up and requests pineapple.
  • Blowing a Raspberry: Darryl does this to Molly when Grandma Nin approves of the quantity of his dumplings. Too bad the quality leaves much to be desired.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Grandma Nin does this when her rivaling grandchildren are shown in a fighting video game-esque Split Screen and she pushes her way into the middle of it, shoving both frames to the side.
  • Call-Back: Grandma Nin's... intense attitude while making the dumplings explains Sharon's Berserk Button in "Mama's Gotta Hustle".
  • Comical Coffee Cup: In the coffee shop he meets Geoff at, Scratch is drinking out of a mug that says “If you’ve got it, haunt it”.
  • Continuity Cavalcade: Several ghosts from previous episodes, including Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, Benjamin Franklin, and the Tugbottoms, show up at the feast. Also present are royal couple Caesar and Cleopatra; the latter was seen visiting the Haughty Haunts Club in "Not-So-Honest Abe".
  • Cue O'Clock: Geoff exclaims that "It's time-to-go o'clock!" as a way to escape the Chairman and the Ghost Council.
  • Description Cut: Molly says she's sure her parents are having a great time on their camping trip. Cut to Sharon trying to shoo an angry bear away from her husband.
  • Drama Queen: Scratch completely flies off the handle after he realizes that there’s no food left for him at all.
Scratch: This is the worst tragedy that’s ever befallen a ghost!
  • The Dreaded: The other ghosts abandon ship once the Chairman and the Ghost Council show up. Scratch in particular is terrified and insisting that all go well lest they find out about his friendship with Molly.
  • Exact Words: Scratch told Geoff to "tell nobody nothing" about the feast, but Geoff interpreted the Double Negative as meaning "tell everybody".
  • Eyed Screen: Both Molly and Darryl’s eyes are seen through this kind of shot as they get ready to compete to be the best kitchen helper for their grandma.
  • Failed Attempt at Drama: After dramatically declaring she won't lose her best friend, Molly prepares to barricade the doors... and then it cuts to her trying to move the kitchen table all by herself.
  • Gasp!: Molly gasps dramatically when Darryl implies that he’s a better kitchen helper than she is.
  • Holding in Laughter: Molly does this smugly as Darryl’s huge pile of dumplings deflates in front of them.
  • I Need to Go Iron My Dog: One of the ghosts uses “I think I left the wood stove on” as an excuse to leave the festival when the Chairman arrives.
  • Infernal Background: As Grandma Nin gets ready for the dinner rush, she turns around to face her grandkids laughing maniacally and wielding knives in both hands as flames roar behind her.
  • Internal Reveal: Molly, along with Darryl and Nin, finally meets the Chairman and the Ghost Council and she learns that if her friendship with Scratch is discovered by them then they'll take him away for good.
  • It's All About Me: Scratch considers Sart Duan Sib to be a holiday all about feeding only him, but Nin insists that the feast is for all hungry ghosts. In trying to have all the food for himself, Scratch ends up not getting any.
  • Pineapple Ruins Pizza: Averted. Scratch specifically asks for pineapple pizza at the end of the episode.
  • The Reveal: The credits for the episode reveal the names of the Ghost Council to be Sir Alister, Lucretia, Bartholomew, and Grimbella.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: All the ghosts at the Sart Duan Sib feast leave when the Chairman and the Ghost Council show up.
Geoff: Oh, look at the time! It's time-to-go o'clock!
  • Serious Business: Grandma Nin takes making sure there’s enough dumplings for the ghosts very seriously.
  • Sibling Rivalry: Molly and Darryl fight over who can make the most dumplings. When they have to make more for the Ghost Council, Nin convinces them to put aside their differences and work together.
  • Sticky Situation: One of the ways Molly sabotages Darryl’s dumpling making is by putting glue in the bowl of filling, making him get his hand stuck.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: When Scratch is in danger of being taken away from their family by the Ghost Council, Grandma Nin convinces Molly and Darryl to work together to make more food for them and they begrudgingly agree.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: While Scratch doesn’t get any of the Sart Duan Sib feast, Grandma Nin orders him a pizza afterward.
  • Tyop on the Cover: In-Universe; the Ghost Council mock Scratch for submitting a "Scar Report."
