Richard is in charge of the house for the day, and the kids take advantage of his easygoing nature. But when word gets out of his Extreme Doormat tendencies, the house gets overrun with people who feel the need to cut loose.

Tropes:

  • Badass Fingersnap: Nicole gives one of these, and everyone immediately stops what they're doing, especially since it echoes throughout town.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Darwin starts yelling in an incredibly squeaky voice, shaking all the furniture. We then see an episode of "Win or Don't Win" where Gary is being given some sort of valuable crystal glassware, and Darwin's voice starts shaking the set, shattering the host of the show into a million pieces.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: Since his mom isn't there, Gumball is free to eat a ham sandwich covered in chocolate chips, ketchup, and maple syrup.
  • Bowdlerise: On the Arabian version of Cartoon Network, the scene of Nicole grabbing Harold and Harold staring into Nicole's penance stare is cut.
  • Continuity Nod: Richard's signature on his credit card looks like the Metallica logo, just like the signature Miss Simian thought was a forgery in "The Apology".
  • Death Glare: When Mr. Wilson refuses to clean up the house and leave, Nicole stares at him with eyes that look like specter-infested vortices (a la the penance stare from Ghost Rider), reducing him to tears. She gives a less demonic one to her family right before.
  • Fake-Out Fade-Out: About eighty seconds in, the episode has a fake Iris Out of Gumball and Darwin celebrating when they realize it's Saturday, and their dad is in charge.
  • Frozen Face: Richard gives Gumball money to get his eyebrows pierced, but instead gets anti-wrinkle injections which only let him move his eyes (though by the next scene, his face is no longer frozen).
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: Nicole when she enters the house. Mr. Wilson bears the full brunt of it.
  • Hard Truth Aesop: Being assertive does not automatically mean the other party will respect your wishes, something Richard learns the hard way as, after finally working up the courage to stand up to them, the party guests refuse to comply with his demands. Additionally, intimidation or getting someone good with it may be the only way of getting someone else to back down, as seen with Nicole successfully making they party goers clean up their mess.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Gumball's "plan" to go through his morning routine faster is to randomly combine several steps.
Gumball: Spread the toothpaste on the toast, put the cartoons on fast-forward, and give me a milk shower!
  • I Resemble That Remark!: Gumball tells Darwin he "squeals like a piglet on helium". Darwin refutes this while yelling in a voice so loud and high that it nearly makes Gumball and Anais pass out.
  • It's All My Fault: Richard admits all this happened because he was a lenient slacker. Despite his wishes, his kids agreed.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: The conversation between Gumball and Darwin about their voices changing is a reference to Logan Grove's and Kwesi Boakye's voices changing in real life (which led to their getting replaced in season three).
  • Loophole Abuse: Richard takes Alison's shopping cart full of groceries, pointing out that it's not technically stealing because she didn't pay for it yet.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: Mr. Wilson comes to the Watterson house because his wife won't let him be himself at his house. Unfortunately, that means he likes poking people constantly, even poking Gumball's eye twice and the inside of Anais's throat.
  • Police Are Useless: Gumball tries to call the police about the wild party at their house. Donut Cop tells him he can't help them because he's at the party as well.
  • Skeleton Key Card: Gumball tries to open the door with Richard's credit card, only for the hobo to steal the card through the door, mock them, and use it to order pizza.
  • Straw Vegetarian: Discussed; when the construction workers catch him gnawing on a pork knuckle (to the point of practically making out with it), Mr. Small quips that he only went vegetarian to feel superior to others.
  • Swarm of Rats: The hairy hobo who comes to the Watterson house (party) brings a bunch of rats with him. They join him in mocking the Wattersons later.
  • Totem Pole Trench: Gumball, Darwin, and Anais pretend to be a pizza delivery man this way. Anais sticks her hand out of the coat right about where "their" crotch would be, disgusting the one picking the delivery up.
  • Tranquil Fury: Nicole when she tells off the partiers.
  • Trojan Horse: Richard sneaks into the house by hiding inside a large stack of pizza boxes. Then he is immediately thrown out because he had no way to do anything once he got in.
  • Use Your Head: Gumball volunteers to be used as a battering ram to break the house's door down. He gets his face stuck in the mail slot.
  • Victorious Chorus: "Ode to Joy" plays as Gumball and Darwin triumphantly jump in the air (complete with exploding fireworks backdrop) after finding out it's Saturday and that Richard is watching over them in Nicole's absence.
