Recap / Supermarioglitchy4s Super Mario 64 Bloopers Marios Mask Of Madness

Go To

Mario finds a weird mask that makes everyone go a little coo-coo crazy...
Mario unleashes a cursed mask that causes everyone who wears it to act like him. Chaos ensues, which leads to dramatic changes for Melony.
  • Call-Back: The Majora Mask monster from "The Grand Festival" returns, which the Happy Mask Salesman ends up running off after, allowing Mario to keep digging in his sack to find the Mario mask.
  • Character Exaggeration: In addition to giving them Mario's wacky personality and love of spaghetti, the Mario Mask also exaggerates parts of the victim's base personality to crazy levels with Luigi reacting to a mild spook with a panicked rampage around the castle, Axol offering to make Toad into part of a "spaghetti harem anime" and Meggy causing even more chaos than usual with her Splattershot.
  • Cute Mute: Downplayed. Melony's humanoid form is capable of speech due to her voice clips, but she lacks text-based dialogue in her first humanoid appearance.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Axol, who himself went crazy during his five years trapped in the Internet Graveyard, points out how strange Luigi is acting with the Mario mask on.
  • Groin Attack: Under the effects of the Mario mask, a startled Luigi goes insane and starts knocking over everything. Mario is only convinced to try stopping him after taking one to the “pingas”, complete with his voice temporarily raising in pitch.
  • Humanity Ensues: Melony, courtesy of the Fierce Diety Mask, gets transformed into an animesque humanoid girl.
  • I'm Standing Right Here: Twice no less. The first is the "another anime thot" scene between Mario and Meggy, of which the latter is not amused, while the second is between Mario and Axol, who inadvertently insults the former by calling a Mario-Mask possessed Meggy "Mario if he was actually competent", resulting in the same reaction as above.
  • Love at First Sight: Axol when he sees Melony in her human form for the first time.
    • Before her transformation, he was still friendly with Melony, offering her a role in Two Piece.
  • Noodle Incident: Whatever "the incident" was, it made the Happy Mask Salesman quit selling magic masks and enter the more mundane business of selling coronavirus face masks. The only information revealed about it by SMG4 was that it happened in 1989.
  • No-Sell: The Mario Mask doesn't work on Mario for obvious reasons.
  • Nothing Is the Same Anymore: Melony becomes human thanks to being fused with the Fierce Deity Mask, and according to the final scene, the Happy Mask Salesman's inability to get it back from her may make the change permanent.note
  • Self-Deprecation:
    • When Meggy says they have to get the Mario mask off of Axol, Mario states that Axol is finally an interesting character with it, a possible jab toward the fans who feel that he has been wasted and want him to appear in more videos.
    • Upon seeing the now-humanoid Melony, Mario complains that she is another "anime thot", referencing the complaints about how there are already four other OCs in the main cast who are animesque femalesnote . That Meggy is the one to take offense and ask Mario what he's implying only makes it more obvious.
Mario: "Don't tell me we have ANOTHER anime thot!"
  • Sleepy Head: The first time we see humanoid-Melony, she's asleep. After accepting her transformation, she quickly searches for another place to sleep… and chooses a hedge outside the castle as her new bed, finding a new one every time it gets destroyed or ruined. She even appears to be mostly asleep as she slaps away the Happy Mask Salesman's hand when he tries to take back the Fierce Deity Mask.
Melony: (in-time with her slaps) "No. No. No-no-no-no. No."
  • The Voiceless: Melony, who originally was The Speechless as a watermelon, ends up becoming this after the Fierce Diety Mask is accidentally thrown onto her and is transformed into a humanoid girl, since she only communicates with only random voice clips and no text based dialogue,
