* DecompositeCharacter: Lar Gand and Mon-El are the same person in the comics. Here, they are, respectively, father and son.

* DeathBySex: Mon-El was sleeping with a woman right before Daxam's destruction. The woman was abandoned against Mon-El's wishes due to his bodyguard dragging him away.

* IHaveYourWife: Lyra has to steal "Starry Night" so the art theft ring her brother was working for won't kill him.

** Winn asks this of Lyra after he learns she used him to steal "Starry Night" by Creator/VincentVanGogh. At first, she says he was just a mark, but later admits that she only used him because her brother was in trouble.

* DoubleMeaningTitle: The title refers to both the two pairs of StarCrossedLovers (Kara x Mon-El and Winn x Lyra, both of which are a case of InterspeciesRomance) and Mon-El's parents who traveled galaxies to search for him.

* GracefulLoser: Several episodes show the Daxamites hunting for Mon-El. When they find him, they start making threats if he wasn't returned. Upon eventually finding that Mon-El refuses to assist them in rebuilding Daxam or be the prince again and wants to stay on Earth, instead of an expected confrontation that these sorts of plots tend to turn into, Lar Gand essentially shrugs and teleports him back down, although Rhea, at least, seems a little surprised that her husband doesn't even put up a fight.
