Huckleberry Pie finds Fright Fall terrifying – Strawberry Shortcake suggests he focus on the fun instead of the frights!

Tropes:

  • An Aesop: It’s fun to be scared sometimes, but it’s also okay if you don’t want to be scared on Halloween. The important thing is just to have fun.
  • Disney Acid Sequence: When Blueberry Muffin gets passed the mic during the “Scaryoke Night” song, the scene turns into this - fitting for her spaced-out personality.
  • Dramatic Thunder: Thunder crashes and Strawberry’s voice turns into a booming echo when she says, “terrifying tasty treats!”, scaring Huckleberry.
  • Halloween Episode: Technically they’re celebrating the “Fright Fall Fright Festival,” but still.
  • Halloween Songs: “Scaryoke Night”
  • Pun-Based Title: A play on “karaoke” and “scary.”
  • You Mean "Xmas": The berries call Halloween “Fright Fall.”

Strawberry Shortcake and friends are excited to carve their Fright Fall pumpkins! That is until Blueberry puts a stop to their plans...

Tropes:

  • An Aesop: When it comes to group activities, it’s important to make sure everyone is comfortable and able to have fun; even if that means changing your original plans.
  • Companion Cube: Being the Cloudcuckoolander that she is, Blueberry Muffin thinks she can talk to her pumpkin. His name is Paul and he tells her that pumpkins have feelings too and that they don’t want to be carved up.
  • Facepalm: The other girls all do this when Blueberry won’t let them carve their pumpkins because she thinks they’re sentient.
  • Faux Horrific: After she develops an attachment to her pumpkin, Blueberry Muffin begins to see the other girls talking about their pumpkins as if with murderous intent - complete with creepy lighting and dramatic music.
Lime Chiffon: I love the smell when you slice them open!
  • Free the Frogs: Blueberry thinks pumpkins are living creatures and is determined to save them from being carved for Fright Fall.
  • Funny Background Event: While the other girls are huddled together trying to figure out what to do about Blueberry’s sudden pumpkin protectiveness, Blueberry Muffin can be seen in the background running back and forth carrying the pumpkins away.
  • Gasp!: Done by the girls when Huckleberry shows off his pumpkin which is carved up, puking out seeds, and has a knife sticking out of the top.
  • Halloween Episode: Technically “Fright Fall,” but all the tradition of carving pumpkins is the same.
  • Love Bubbles: Appear behind Blueberry Muffin when she sees her pumpkin for the first time.
  • "Not Wearing Pants" Dream: When all the girls look at him weird after he shows them his carved pumpkin, Huckleberry questions if he’s having a dream - specifically one of these. He then uses his pumpkin to cover himself up even though he’s fully clothed.
Huckleberry Pie: What? Is this a dream? Am I naked?!
  • "Psycho" Strings: Play (probably only in Blueberry’s mind) when the other girls each pull out a pumpkin-carving knife.
  • That Poor Cat: When Blueberry Muffin dramatically throws a pumpkin towards the girls because she’s insulted they want to carve them, she apparently hits a cat offscreen.
  • Tongue Twister:
Strawberry Shortcake: Back in Berryville, one of my favorite Fright Fall traditions was going to Pumpkin Crumble’s pumpkin patch to pick the perfect pumpkin-carving pumpkin. Say that three times fast!
