Fun-Sized Friends

Original air date: 2/15/2018 (produced in 2017)

SpongeBob and Patrick exchange tiny living versions of themselves.

"Fun-Sized Friends" contains examples of:

  • An Arm and a Leg: Tiny SpongeBob loses an arm, and Patrick replaces it with an action figure arm.
  • The Dog Bites Back: After having been abused by Patrick and humiliated by SpongeBob, Tiny SpongeBob and Tiny Patrick team up to get revenge on their creators.
  • Fun Size: The entire premise of this episode.
  • Green Around the Gills: Happens to Squidward when he sees SpongeBob and Patrick create tiny versions of themselves.
  • Gross-Up Close-Up: With Tiny SpongeBob, and Tiny Patrick to a lesser extent.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: To differentiate between both the real SpongeBob and Patrick with their miniature counterparts, Tiny SpongeBob has only one buck tooth instead of two, has fewer holes, and has straight edges instead of wavy ones, while Tiny Patrick has no floral print on his shorts, and has no pink spots on his skin.
  • Innocently Insensitive: When SpongeBob and Patrick play with their tiny selves, they are completely unaware of the pain and misery they cause them, such as SpongeBob dressing up Tiny Patrick in ridiculous outfits and treating him like a pet, and Patrick making Tiny SpongeBob do things he's too small for, which leads him to get injured.
  • Iris Out: How the episode ends.
  • Mistaken Identity: This line of dialogue has Patrick briefly mistaking SpongeBob for someone else...
SpongeBob: Our world is just too big for them. Oh, I have an idea.
Patrick: Oh, I hope it's not another one of your crazy plans to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula.
SpongeBob: You're thinking of Plankton, Patrick.
    Patrick: Oh, yeah!
  • Pepper Sneeze: Tiny SpongeBob tortures Patrick by drilling a hole in the middle of his face, pouring pepper into it, and then tying his mouth shut so that when Patrick tries to sneeze, his head explodes.
  • Pet Dress-Up: SpongeBob spends most of his time with Tiny Patrick dressing him up in cute outfits, which annoys Tiny Patrick.
  • Shout-Out: The scene where SpongeBob and Patrick are tied up with ropes by Tiny SpongeBob and Tiny Patrick is a reference to Gulliver's Travels.
  • Speaking Simlish: Tiny SpongeBob and Tiny Patrick speak like this due to not having speech capabilities, though there are instances where they say intelligible words.
  • You Need a Breath Mint: While Tiny SpongeBob brushes Patrick's teeth, he is knocked out by Patrick's horrible breath.

Grandmum's the Word

Original air date: 2/16/2018 (produced in 2017)

Plankton convinces SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs to let him pretend to be the owner of the Krusty Krab when his grandmother comes for a visit.

"Grandmum's the Word" contains examples of:

  • Big Ball of Violence: Happens in Grandma Plankton's fantasy as the Bikini Bottomites fight over a Krabby Patty thrown down to them by Squidward.
  • Big "WHY?!": A whole string of them after Grandma Plankton takes off with the formula.
Plankton: Why?! Why did I lie?!
SpongeBob: Why?! Why did I pretend?!
Mr. Krabs: Why?! Why did I give her my formula?!
Squidward: Why?! (on the phone) Why wouldn't we be open on Tuesday? Idiot!
  • Bloody Horror: Parodied. When Plankton falls to the ground, he lands on a ketchup packet that splatters underneath him.
  • Crush Filter: Happens when Grandma Plankton sees Squidward for the first time.
  • Did Not See That Coming: Grandma Plankton stealing the formula was something not even Plankton knew was gonna happen.
  • Dirty Old Woman: Plankton's grandma gets a crush on Squidward and at one point imagines him being her slave.
  • Eye Pop: SpongeBob, Squidward and Mr. Krabs all have this reaction (with their eyes busting through the lenses of their cameras) when they see Grandma Plankton fly off with the Krabby Patty formula.
  • Given Name Reveal: The first name of Plankton's grandmother is revealed to be Lily.
  • Go-to-Sleep Ending: For Grandma Plankton.
  • Handbag of Hurt: Grandma Plankton hits Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob with her purse. Not even her own grandson is safe.
  • Imagine Spot: Plankton's grandma has one after she steals the formula where she has taken over the Krusty Krab, the whole town grovels before her, and Squidward is her slave.
  • Maintain the Lie: The plot of the episode revolves around Plankton trying to fool his grandma into thinking he owns the Krusty Krab.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs and Plankton all have this reaction when Grandma Plankton makes off with the Krabby Patty formula.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: Plankton does this with his "sincere face" to convince Mr. Krabs to let him pretend to own the Krusty Krab. He does it again to convince Mr. Krabs to let his grandma take a picture with the secret formula.
  • A Rare Sentence: When Grandma Plankton tries to flirt with Squidward:
Squidward: All right, lady, I don't normally say this, but get off my nose.
  • Screw Politeness, I'm a Senior!: Grandma Plankton is rude to everyone she meets and constantly hits Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob, and Plankton with her purse.
  • Teeth Flying: Plankton loses a tooth when Karen slaps him, and at the end of the episode he loses a couple of teeth when his grandma smacks him with her purse (in her sleep).
  • They Call Me MISTER Tibbs!: "That's MISTER Plankton to you!"
