George has decided he's made a terrible mistake in breaking up with Susan. He moans, groans, and is generally driving everybody crazy. Against everyone's advice, he decides to tell her he made a mistake. No sooner are they back together than he decides he's the one who made the mistake. Elaine decides to put her picture on her Christmas cards and Kramer agrees to be the photographer. Only problem is that she exposes just a little too much of herself. Jerry meanwhile is dating Tia, the model he recently met on a flight, and things seem to be going nicely....until she sees him picking his nose, or so she thinks at any rate.
Tropes:
- Awkward Stoplight Moment: Tia stops next to Jerry on a stoplight and sees him scratching his nose, which to her looked like he was picking it. Jerry notices her and realizes what happened.
- Christmas Episode: Elaine sends out her annual Christmas cards.
- Embarrassing Nickname: Because of the Wardrobe Malfunction mentioned below, Elaine is given the nickname "Nip."
- Funny Background Event: While Jerry is calling Calvin Klein on Kramer's behalf, Elaine catches George ogling her Christmas card and confiscates it.
- Here We Go Again!: At the end of the episode, Kramer shows off the photos he posed for, and then the others noticed that something of his is showing...
- Hypocrisy Nod: Jerry and George rationalize that nose picking isn't a big deal And then:Jerry: Let me ask you something. If you were going out with somebody and if she did that, what would you do? Would you continue going out with her?
George: No. That's disgusting! - Inconvenient Itch: The itch on Jerry's nose was inconvenient in that it made it look like he was picking it rather than scratching.
- Minor Flaw, Major Breakup: For once, Jerry is on the receiving end, as Tia breaks up with him for seemingly picking his nose.
- Nipple and Dimed / Wardrobe Malfunction: Elaine unknowingly exposes her nipple in her Christmas card picture.
- Nose Nuggets: Tia catches Jerry scratching his nose and thinks he was picking it instead. Nose picking and its appropriateness is then discussed at length.
- Shout-Out: Jerry references The Merchant of Venice and The Elephant Man when confronting Tia:Jerry: And what if I did do it? Even though I admit to nothing, and never will. What does that make me? And I'm not here just defending myself but all those Pickers out there who've been caught. Each and every one of them, who has to suffer the shame and humiliation because of people like you. Are we not human?! If we pick, do we not bleed?! (A few people in the hallway are looking at him. He turns and addresses them.) I am not an animal!
- Wild Mass Guessing: George invokes this in-universe:George: I guarantee you, Moses was a picker. You wander through the desert for forty years with that dry air, you telling me you're not going to have occasion to clean house a little bit?
