Recap / SM G4s Mario Bloopers Studying For Exams But Youre Friends With Mario

Go To

Mario tries to help his friends study for exams but… it’s Mario 🤡

Meggy and Melony are cramming for their entrance exam into college. Unfortunately for them, Mario decides to lend them a helping hand.

  • Big "NO!": Meggy does this when Mario reveals that he brought Baldi, a basic math teacher who doesn't have experience in algebra, to help her and Melony.
  • The Bus Came Back: X's first appearance since "War of the Fat Italians 2021".
  • Call-Back:
    • Meggy and Melony's motivation for getting into college is so Meggy can get her sports coach experience and Melony can train her deity powers, as demonstrated in episodes such as "She's Back!" and "To Become A God".
    • Luigi's meditation from "To Become A God" continues, and plays a key role in helping the girls pass their exams.
  • Chekhov's Skill: Luigi is shown meditating and ascending to the astral plane at the start of the episode. The same happens again when he and Mario take the girls' exam, which allows him to pull an oversleeping Meggy and Melony's consciousness with them and take over for them.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Despite successfully fooling everyone into thinking that they're Meggy and Melony, neither Mario nor Luigi know algebra. Fortunately, Luigi has a backup plan.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Despite all of the distractions they go through and even oversleeping, Meggy and Melony's studying pays off and they ace the exam.
  • Epic Fail: Mario struggles on the first question, so he decides to take a more simple one... name and date. He struggles as much on these.
  • Everyone Has Standards: When Luigi uses his meditation powers to open a portal to Meggy and Melony sleeping, Mario wonders if he should call the police for spying on girls.
  • Get Out!: Meggy yells this to Baldi and X after she gets fed up with their prank. Melony almost walks out of the room in tears after thinking Meggy meant her as well and has to get pulled back in.
  • Not So Above It All: In older videos, X is usually the calmer one. Here, he pulls a prank on the girls by pretending to be held hostage.
  • Overworked Sleep: After keeping themselves up all night on a mountain of energy drinks, Meggy and Melony finally keel over and crash in the morning, missing the exams and forcing Mario and Luigi to take their place.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Mario and Luigi's disguises as Meggy and Melony are plain awful, but everyone still falls for them.
  • Shout-Out: At one point, Meggy reenacts the "I don't need it" scene from the SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Tea in the Treedome", but with her phone instead of water. Later, Mr. Krabs' "Except you, you stay" scene is replicated with Meggy as Krabs and Melony as the clown, a reference to the episode "As Seen On TV".
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Meggy and Melony decide to spend all night cramming for their college entry exams via guzzling down several Monster energy drinks to help them study. When Mario checks in on them in the morning, the two, having spent all night studying and are high on energy drinks, are barely able to take a single step before the inevitable crash sets in and they fall asleep. Even Mario calls them out for being so irresponsible as to resort to this last-minute study method.
  • Unwanted Assistance: All of Mario's efforts at helping Meggy and Melony just serve to distract them.
  • Visual Pun: Baldi asks you to find X. As in the Mario Recolor.
