Tropes for this episode include:
- Berserk Button: Kokoa karate-chopped a plate of perfectly good curry out of Apsara's hands onto the floor before calling it "low-class food." In response, Kokoa was the first to be turned into a curry-zombie by the irate teacher. She has a very similar reaction when Inner!Moka does it to her later.
- Character Tics: While Inner!Moka behaves like her usual self, the curry in her system causes her to randomly say "curry", much to her embarrassment.
- Cordon Bleugh Chef: Yukari adds frogs, lizards and grasshopper extract to her Thai-styled curry. Whether or not this is a witch-thing or if she's just a bad cook is never stated. Apsara's only complaint is that it isn't spicy enough, whereupon she dumps several bottles worth of F&B spice (one of the caps on the bottles coming loose) into it.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Kokoa tries attacking Mizore for calling her a stalker. Without flinching, Mizore freezes her solid.
- A Day in the Limelight: The episode focuses on Mizore, learning how to cook as a means of impressing Tsukune.
- Disproportionate Retribution: Apsara goes crazy and tries to turn everyone in the school into her curry-addicted zombie slaves simply because Kokoa insulted her curry.
- A Dog Named "Dog": Apsara is literally an apsara.
- Failed a Spot Check: While Moka noticed that Kokoa is acting nice for once, all Tsukune seems to notice are the plates of curry she's carrying around, and not the fact that her skin is bright yellow.
- Feminine Women Can Cook: While the boys are all in Shop Class, all of the girls are cooking in Home Ec. In Mizore's case, she learns through trial an error to cook, really picking up a talent for it using shaved ice as her main ingredient.
- Monster of the Week: Ms. Apsara is an apsara (a water nymph from Hindu/Buddhist folklore) who is so obsessed with curry, she tries turning everyone into curry-loving zombies.
- Pun: Apsara's curry zombies like to replace certain words with "curry" a lot.Kokoa: Hey, no need to curry.Saito: There's nothing to curry about.
- Shop Class: While all of the girls are in Home Ec., all of the boys are in shop class. All of the boys are too enamored with meeting with the girls later for what they are fixing to really pay attention, Saizo nearly cutting Tsukune with a saw by accident twice.
- Slipping a Mickey: In another gambit to claim Tsukune, Kurumu tries dumping wine-bottles full of aphrodisiacs, love-potions and sexual-performance enhancers into her curry.
- Tastes Better Than It Looks: While Mizore's chilled curry is certainly different from "traditional curry", it is a huge hit, especially when everyone was overwhelmed by the spice in Apsara's curry.
- Training Montage: Mizore gets a montage where she slowly, but surely, learns how to properly fix curry, even getting help from Ruby when she sees what she is up to.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Kokoa triggered Apsara's entire rampage by destroying a plate of perfectly good curry and insulting it, setting off the teacher's Berserk Button.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: Unlike most episodic antagonists, Apsara's goals - to share her authentic curry with everyone - is altruistic and genuine in nature. It's the fact that she is brainwashing people into eating it and dismissing Mizore's recipe for being "a travesty", "a perversion" and "false curry" is what makes her a bad guy.
