Mordecai has to watch Thomas (Death's kid, not the goat intern) while on his date with CJ.

Tropes

  • Babysitting Episode: Mordecai has to watch Thomas again while on his date with CJ.
  • Call-Back: Death has Mordecai babysit Thomas again since "Dead at Eight" and he's calling in his favor from Mordecai and Rigby to babysit again from "Guitar Of Rock".
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: After the last time he went to the Underworld, Mordecai calmly tells an understandably freaked out CJ she'll get used to it.
  • Crush Blush: Mordecai does it twice for being forward with CJ and while trying to explain his relationship with her to Thomas. The second one gets this reaction out of CJ after Mordecai accidentally calls her his girlfriend.
  • Evil Is Petty: Because of a simple insult, one he brought on himself no less, Thomas spends the whole episode trying to ruin Mordecai and CJ's relationship, nearly getting all of them killed in the process.
  • It's All About Me: Rigby, while happy for Mordecai, fails to see why his date is more important than the prank calls and face stuffing the two of them normally do on Saturday, later refusing to help Mordecai because of it.
  • Moment Killer: Thomas purposefully serves as one for Mordecai and CJ.
  • Mr. Exposition: Mordecai serves as this, explaining to CJ (and any viewers who hadn't seen Dead At Eight) that Thomas is 300 years old, as well as outlining his usual encounters with Death.
  • One-Steve Limit: Lampshaded.
Mordecai: Dude, I need you to do me a huge favor and babysit Thomas tonight.
Rigby: Isn't he, like, in college?
Mordecai: Not that Thomas, Death's Thomas.
  • Relationship Sabotage: Thomas purposely tries to get between Mordecai and CJ just because CJ made fun of him.
  • Sequel Episode: To "I Like You Hi" and "Dead at Eight".
  • Ship Tease: Rigby goes to Eileen's place while Mordecai's on his date.
