How Come the Moon Changes Shape?

Mindy seems to think that there are many different moons. Jet and co. set out to prove that there is only one moon, and its different appearances are phases.
  • 30 Minutes, or It's Free!: Carrot orders pizza, and says it will be here in less than thirty minutes or they will cheerfully refund his earth money.
  • Ace Pilot: Carrot mentions that Celery has been voted the best driver (well, technically pilot, but the Bortronians tend to treat saucers like cars) in the Bortron system for three years in a row.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: Carrot orders a pizza with mushroom, anchovies, fish, pineapple, apricot, and arugula. With extra gravy.
  • Commonality Connection: Sean and Carrot find that they have a lot in common, like how they are nervous during space travel.
  • Cross-Referenced Titles: The episode has a similar title to "How Come the Moon Has Craters?"
  • Guest-Star Party Member: Carrot actually joins the space mission for once instead of staying behind.
  • Let's Duet: The episode's Insert Song is a love duet between Carrot and Celery called "Let's Fly Our Little Saucer to the Moon".
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: At the end of the episode, Mindy admits to Sunspot that she knew all along that there was only one moon, but she likes making the big kids explain over and over.
  • Questioning Title?: The episode title is a question.
  • Rhyming with Itself: "Well I could fix a little dinner, my dear/But this night is such a winner, my dear."
  • Security Cling: Sean and Carrot cling to each other at one point.
  • Ship Tease: Jet and Sydney dance together towards the end of the episode.
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: Carrot and Celery's duet grosses out Jet and Sean.
  • Stock Rhymes: "Moon/June" in "Let's Fly Our Little Saucer to the Moon".
  • Unconventional Food Order: Zig-zagged. Carrot orders a pizza with typical toppings like mushroom, anchovies, and fish, but he also asks for pineapple, apricot, and arugula. With extra gravy.
  • Wingding Eyes: Face 9000 gets heart eyes when he hears about pizza.

Night of a Bazillion Stars

The gang wants to learn why stars twinkle and planets don't.
  • Companion Cube: This episode introduces Sean's Neil Armstrong action figure. He brought it to sleep with, but is embarrassed about it.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: Carrot makes s'mores out of flat cake, barbecue sauce, and cottage cheese.
  • Inherently Funny Words: Jet thinks "sleepover" is a great Earth word.
  • List Song: Jet's song, aptly titled "Night of a Bazillion Stars", names all of the neighborhood stars.
  • Moonburn: Sean packs a lot of stuff for the sleepover, including 'moonblock'.
Mindy: Why did you bring so much stuff?
Sean: My mom made me bring all these things. I have flashlights, two coats, sunblock, bugblock, moonblock.
    Sydney: Wait, moonblock?!?
Sean: My dad says you can't be too safe.
  • Slumber Party: The gang has a sleepover in this episode.
  • Stargazing Scene: Jet, Sean, and Sydney look at the stars together. Later on, Jet tells them the names of their neighborhood stars in the form of a song.
  • That Reminds Me of a Song: Jet says "I feel a song coming on" before singing.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Sydney reprimands Jet for inconsiderately taking apart Sean's telescope.
