Recap / Peg + Cat S1E12 "The Doohickey Problem"

Go To

The episode begins with Peg and Cat visiting Richard to play with his toy called the I-Sky which enables the user to move celestial bodies around and create patterns. Richard and Cat make patterns, but Richard feels his pattern is inferior. Peg tells him that neither of their patterns are superior or inferior and this cheers him up. Peg begins to make a pattern but cannot find enough red moons, however, Cat finds one for her. This time, Richard is jealous of Peg's pattern and feels he's inferior again but Peg points out that she couldn't have done it without Richard's I-Sky, satisfying Richard. They sing Problem Solved, but Cat dances on the I-Sky, sending a red asteroid crashing into the spaceship, breaking it.

Ramone arrives with his assistant, who is the Pig but they don't recognise him due to a helmet he's wearing. Peg asks for a ride home and Ramone says that while he's too busy collecting rocks that make you change colour, he designed the ship and it can be fixed. He puts the top and bottom pieces on and hands Peg a diagram to fix the rest of it. He leaves and Peg, Cat, and Richard introduce themselves, then take off Pig's helmet, recognising him.

They begin to work on assembling the spaceship's outer coverings, that fit together like a jigsaw puzzle and also have a pattern: triangle, pentagon, triangle, square. Richard doesn't get it right on the first go, causing him again to worry about his inferiority, but Peg reassures him again.

Once that is done, they need sixteen doohickeys to finish fixing the ship. Cat finds five, then four of them disappear. They begin to suspect Big Mouth took them, since the doohickeys are yellow and small enough for him to eat. He then shows up with doohickeys in his fur. They chase him and he drops (and they collect) fifteen doohickeys. They then confront him for the final one, but he dances instead, then falls into a hole, climbs out another one, and runs away with it still attached.

They start to wonder if fifteen is enough and Peg puts them in place, but Cat accidentally knocks them all out, proving that, nope. Peg freaks out as usual but then sees Cat dancing, which gives her an idea: make Big Mouth dance. They try to think up dances and Richard thinks one up, impressing Peg and Cat and discovering his talent. Richard teaches them the dance moves and uses the I-Sky to dump stardust on them. They dance for Big Mouth while Ramone sings. The doohickey falls and it bounces off several people's heads, before the Pig catches it. They then fix the spaceship and fly home.
