Go To

Leda and Castor are both on the hunt for original clone DNA. On-the-lam, Mark and Gracie pursue new leads to find the samples that might set them free, while Art and Sarah reunite to track them down. Meanwhile, Cosima and Scott try to learn more about Castor’s biology and Alison’s new money-making venture is going gangbusters. A shocking revelation about the Castor-Leda connection leaves the sisters reeling, just before Sarah witnesses a deadly Prolethean-Castor face-off.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Acting Unnatural: Sarah and Felix when Art comes over — in the middle of their body disposal.
  • Badass Boast: We get several in one episode.
    • Sarah's reaction to Alexis calling Helena an abomination.
"If Helena's an abomination, I'm much worse."
    • Gracie's bluff to Mr. Finch.
"The problem, Mr. Finch, is your lack of faith in us. We Proletheans make fast friends but fearsome enemies."
    • Helena, when Paul visits her in her cell.
"One day, I kill you all." [mimes shooting him while making machine-gun noises]
  • Berserk Button: Mark is not happy to learn that Sarah told Gracie that he was a clone.
  • BFG: Bonnie wields a huge sniper rifle when confronting Mark in the cornfield.
  • Call-Back:
    • Another Dyad employee is falsely reported dead in a plane crash: first Leekie, now Rachel.
    • Helena's habit of telling tall tales is mentioned again.
  • Cigarette of Anxiety: Coady reaches for one when Rudy gets back.
  • Contrived Coincidence: Sarah just happens to be eating at the same restaurant as Gracie.
  • Death Faked for You: Delphine tells Topside that Rachel died in a plane crash.
  • Disposing of a Body: Sarah, Felix, and Cosima try to get rid of Seth's body after Rudy killed him in the previous episode.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Dr. Coady and Rudy mourn Seth together.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Paul apologizes to Helena for her situation, implying that he didn't want her hurt.
  • Fingore: Mark crushes one of Finch's fingers with a hammer. See Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique below.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Coady and Paul's conversation hints to a large entity controlling Project Castor.
  • Happily Married: Mark and Gracie are clearly head-over-heels in love.
  • I Let Gwen Stacy Die: Art feels responsible for not picking up on Beth's suicidal tendencies and not getting her the help she needed.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Sarah and Felix while dealing with Seth's body.
  • Insistent Terminology: Alison and Donnie aren't "drug dealers", they're "pharmaceutical entrepreneurs".
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Sarah learns what Helena's been through the past season.
    • Gracie learns that Mark is a clone.
  • It's Personal: Bonnie isn't just angry that Mark betrayed the Proletheans, but that he betrayed her family, the people who took him in as one of their own.
  • Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique: Mark tortures Mr. Finch, one of Henrik's old friends, for information on biological samples that Henrik had stolen years ago. The pain causes him to have a heart attack.
  • Lip-Lock Sun-Block: Mark and Gracie's kiss.
  • Long-Lost Relative: The Leda and Castor clones are biologically siblings.
  • The Lost Lenore: Art confesses that he was in love with Beth.
  • Mama Bear: Bonnie shoots Mark for deceiving her husband and running off with her daughter.

  • No Pregger Sex: Averted. Mark and Gracie sleep together while she's pregnant. To make it stranger, she's losing her virginity.
  • Pet the Dog: Bonnie hugs Gracie when they reunite and says she's not to blame for Mark's deception.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Marci and Alison give one to each other in tandem.
Marci: Do you seriously think people are going to trust their children to an infamous alcoholic?
Alison: Why not? They trusted a conniving, second-rate realtor.
  • The Reveal: The Leda and Castor originals are siblings.
  • Speak of the Devil: Alison and Donnie are discussing Marci Coats when she drops in unexpectedly.
  • Speech Impediment: Rachel has a lot of trouble vocalizing after her brain injury.
  • Squick: In-universe. Scott and Felix's reactions to Cosima cutting up Seth's head for his brain.
  • Surprise Incest: Remember that clip of Rudy and Krystal in the elevator back in episode 1?
  • Tangled Family Tree: Gracie is pregnant with Helena and Henrik's child, her own half-sibling. Since Helena and Mark are biological siblings, the baby is also her nephew/niece by marriage, nephew/niece to all the other clones, and Kira's cousin. You can even stretch it to include Mrs. S, Felix, and the Hendrix kids by adoption and by biology in Mrs. S's case, since later in the season it's revealed that Mrs. S. is the biological daughter of the Leda and Castor original.
  • Their First Time: Mark and Gracie consummate their marriage in this episode.
  • Undying Loyalty: Art and Sarah discuss his loyalty to clone club.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Gracie's reaction to Mark confessing his role as a military spy. Maybe he should have waited a little longer after they had sex.
