Recap / One Hundred And One Dalmatian Street S 1 E 29 Fetch

Go To

When Dylan gets a digital assistant, Dolly and Dawkins decide to get all the other puppies their own.

This episode features examples of:

  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Dante is convinced this is the case with Fetch. He's wrong, though Dylan starts thinking the same when he encounters multiple Fetches without knowing Dolly and Dawkins ordered more. That said, she does laugh when Dylan and Dolly get in trouble with their parents at the end, so she may be an extremely light example.
  • Benevolent A.I.: Fetch, despite what Dante claims.
  • Brick Joke: Early in the episode, Fetch tells the Dimitri trio about the world's largest Whoopee Cushion, with them asking her to order it. When Delilah and Doug return home, a giant whoopee cushion gets airdropped into the garden.
  • Can't Get Away with Nuthin': When Delilah and Doug arrive home, they are shocked to see so many Fetches, but Dolly and Dylan quickly distract them by using the Fetches to sing the anniversary song which D.J. wrote. That's when the giant whoopee cushion which the Dimitris ordered gets airdropped into the garden, reminding Delilah and Doug that Dylan and Dolly are still in trouble with them.
  • Chekhov's Gun: As mentioned above, DJ uses his Fetch to write an anniversary song for Delilah and Doug, which Dolly and Dylan are able to use to briefly distract Delilah and Doug from the trouble they are in.
  • Companion Cube: Dawkins gets attached to Fetch to a quasi-romantic degree, as she's the first "person" he's able to have an intelligent conversation with.
  • Cute Machines: Fetch is an A.I. the size of a tennis ball, which speaks in a calm voice and is always willing to help.
  • Dramatic Thunder: Much like in "Flea-Mageddon," Dante flicks the lights off and on to convey this.
  • Intelligence Equals Isolation: Dawkins admits to feeling this when talking to Fetch.
  • It's Quiet… Too Quiet: Dante says this when Dylan's broken Fetch shuts down.
  • Karma Houdini: The Dimitris and Dawkins suffer no consequences for their part of the conflict. On the other hand...
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: Dolly's warranty finally expires in this episode. After ending certain episodes getting little to no punishment, she finally pays the full price for her actions.
  • Least Rhymable Word: D.J.'s anniversary song to his parents.

  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Among the numerous language settings which Fetch has, one of them is Dog.
