Recap / One Hundred And One Dalmatian Street S 1 E 28 Its My Party

Go To

Triple-D, angry that their family doesn't seem to think of them as individuals, demand to have separate birthday parties.

This episode features examples of:

  • Black Eyes of Evil: Destiny briefly gets this when she tells Dolly that she demands her party be a cute baby fox fundraiser.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Dolly tells Diesel that since he got them into the party-planning mess, he'll have to plan a party too, "Ya dig?" Complete with morphing her face to look like his.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Exceptionally so, as this episode puts together the show's two ditziest characters: Deja Vu and Diesel. The scene where they plan Deja Vu's party is gleefully nonsensical, and Deja Vu even manages to out-random Diesel - which then of course leads the punchline where their party ends up being the most fun.
  • Darkhorse Victory: Diesel wins the birthday party contest, as Dallas and Destiny get too mad at Dylan and Dolly to even attend their birthday parties, and everyone finds his digging party to be Filthy Fun.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Triple-D, as the episode centers around their birthday and we find out more about them as individuals.
  • The Dividual: Deconstructed. Part of the episode's conflict is Destiny, Dallas and Deja Vu getting upset about how not even their own family can tell them apart from each other, while also highlighting that they each have their own distinct personalities.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Dylan and Dawkins get their idea for a space princess themed party when Dylan remarks that planning a party for Dallas is like planning one for someone from another planet.
  • Filthy Fun: In the end, all the puppies find Diesel's party, which basically just consists of playing in the mud, to be the most fun one.
  • Left the Background Music On: The dramatic drum music as Dylan prepares to pick which triplet he's going to plan a party for turns out to be Diesel drumming on a bucket off screen.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Destiny gives a vicious one to Dolly when she starts dominating her party plans and begins acting like a Stage Mom.
  • Shaking the Rump: Dolly does this briefly when bragging that she and Destiny will have the best party. Later, four pups do the same thing at the party scene.
  • Single-Minded Triplets: Subverted and deconstructed with Triple-D. This episode reveals that while they often act like this, they do have their own unique personalities and are upset about how even their own family can't tell them apart.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: This dialogue when Dylan and Dolly are trying to hide that Triple-D's birthday is coming up so they won't have to plan them a party.
Dolly: Hey, what's the haps, Triple-D?
    Dylan: Certainly no party!
  • Verbal Backspace: Dylan tries to save his Suspiciously Specific Denial this way.
Dolly: Hey, what's the haps, Triple-D?
Dylan: Certainly no party! [Dolly kicks him] No parti... cular thing to talk about!
  • Voice of the Legion: Destiny says "Understand?" with this after she tells Dolly what she wants her party to be like.
