• Barbarian Tribe: After being lost in the woods for such a long time, Lupe, Slips, Windsor, and Ingrid had to cope with living in the wild. They started up a barbarian tribe called "Jes Jes".
• Book Dumb: Slips doesn't even know what a book is.
• Breaking the Fourth Wall: When a chipmunk snatches Adam's piccolo, the latter can't get it back and requests the help of Jake. Jake refuses, breaking the fourth wall, to insult Adam.
  Jake: Not now, Adam. I'm busy watching this TV show about a lame tweenager, who's trying to get his piccolo back from a wild chipmunk.
  • Also, Lupe became the narrator of her sideplot, but Windsor's voice appeared in her narration, to argue with her.
• Bunnies for Cuteness: Bunny rabbits were some of the wild animals, who the CDMS animals were terrified of. They were extremely cute and nice, but they saw them as evil.
  Bunny: [takes out carrot] Share?
  Henry: [panicking] IT'S GOT A WEAPON!!!
• Butt-Monkey: Ingrid was this, throughout the episode.
  [Ingrid slips on a banana peel]
  Lupe: Airborne giraffe! Look out!
  [Lupe, Slips, and Windsor move out of the way, and Ingrid crash lands on the ground]
  Windsor: That was close.
  Lupe: The important thing is we're okay.
• Catchphrase: Principal Pixiefrog's "Poppycockadoodle" is parodied in his username, "Polliwogadoodle24".
• Fish Eyes: Coach Gills refers to her own as Marty Feldman eyes.
• Furry Confusion: The anthropomorphic animals of Charles Darwin Middle School are terrified of wild, regular animals.
• Hidden Depths: Adam is skilled with the piccolo and used to play in the band at Chester Arthur Middle School.
• I Heard That: Mrs. Warthog heard something Principal Pixiefrog said, which resulted in him having to triple her salary.
• Insult to Rocks: Jake wound up almost getting married to the King Squirrel's hideously ugly daughter. He bailed the minute he saw her face and dumped her at the altar. Heartbroken, the ugly squirrel was in search of a husband who didn't care what she looked like. Luckily, Henry Armadillo swooped in and was willing to marry her, no matter how she looked. The squirrel princess screamed in disgust, the minute she saw Henry's face.
• Little Known Fact: Principal Pixiefrog elucidates how some cultures refer to flutes as "fifes", due to it's high tones and vert.
  Coach Gills: Fascinating. I had no idea.
• Malicious Misnaming: Everybody kept referring to Adam's piccolo as a "bassoon".
• Motor Mouth: Henry was this, when sitting in the front seat of the bus.
• The Movie: Was promoted, and initially aired in one-hour format, as such.
• Music Soothes the Savage Beast: Played straight. When Adam plays his basso-*ahem* "piccolo", it lulls all animals within earshot, straight to sleep.
• Noodle Incident: Last year, Lupe, Slips, Windsor, and Ingrid went to Pickle Junction.
• Oh, Crap!: Adam said "Oh, Poopy.", when everybody on the bus, including the driver, fell asleep and the bus started heading straight toward a cliff.
• Political Overcorrectness: Don't call them "Stewardess". The proper term is "Airline Hostess".
• Redshirt Army: Henry Armadillo was the redshirt in the teacher team.
• Rule of Three: Slips, Windsor, and Ingrid pull off an excellent joke, using this format.
  Windsor: If I had known I was destined for a premature demise, I'd have eaten more butter.
  Ingrid: I would have spent more time apologizing for things I didn't do.
  Slips: I'd have eaten more butter.
  Windsor: Hey! That was mine.
  Ingrid: I'm sorry!
• Running Gag: People referring to Adam's piccolo as a bassoon.
• Never My Fault: Adam refuses to admit that it's his fault that they are lost in the woods, despite the fact that it was his playing the piccolo(which Jake warned him not to do) that caused everyone to fall asleep, including the driver who was still at the wheel. Even when Windsor points this out, Adam still refuses to admit that it's his fault and later acts like it was the animals fault instead.
• Screen Name: Principal Pixiefrog's embarrassing online username was "Polliwogadoodle24".
• Shout-Out:
  • The bears Adam gets involved with wear the iconic hats and ties of Yogi and Boo Boo.
  • Multiple references are made to Lord of the Flies.
• Suddenly Fluent in Gibberish: Adam and Jake understand the wild squirrels and chipmunks.
  Chipmunk: [chipmunk noises]
  Adam: Yes, I want my piccolo back!
  Chipmunk: [chipmunk noises]
  Adam: Yes, I'm sure it's not a bassoon.
• Weirder Than Usual: Slips gets motion sickness, making him regurgitate more than usual.
• Who's on First?: Henry was confused, when he joined a tribe titled "Jes Jes", which is also Lupe's way of saying "Yes Yes".
• Women Drivers: Mrs. Warthog.
