"Art From the Heart": Randall wants to create a Northwest Coast design for Uncle Jack and Aunt Merna's anniversary.
"Art From the Heart" contains the following tropes:
- Acting Unnatural: Molly and Tooey don't want Jack and Merna to find out about the surprise, so they try to 'act natural.' They end up acting awkward and dropping things.
- Animal Motifs: Molly and Tooey find Northwest Coast designs of animals in Randall's sketchbook, and learn about how they each mean something. For example, a frog stands for wealth, strength, and power. Later on, Uncle Jack uses the Tlingit raven and eagle story as a motif. He compares Molly to an eagle: strong, proud, and not afraid of anything. He then compares Tooey to a raven: smart, wise, and has a plan for every situation. The two of them eventually decide to use an eagle and raven for Jack and Merna's anniversary drawing. It is through this motif that Molly and Tooey are indirectly compared to a married couple.
- Argument of Contradictions: Molly wants to draw a frog, but Tooey wants to draw a wolf. They go back and forth on this until Uncle Jack walks in.
- Cardiovascular Love: Randall has drawn a heart, but can't think of what to put inside it.
- Feud Episode: Briefly becomes one when Molly and Tooey fight over what to draw. Notable for being their first-ever fight in the series.
- Hidden Depths: It is shown that Randall is quite artistically inclined.
- Opposites Attract: Aunt Merna is proud and stern like an eagle, while Uncle Jack is clever and playful like a raven. They've been married for many years and always lift one another up.
"Gold Strikeout": Molly, Tooey, and Trini strike gold.
"Gold Strikeout" contains the following tropes:

- Description Cut: Tooey says that it would be easy to find gold in Gold Creek. Cut to the trio struggling to find gold.Molly: I don't know if they named this creek very well.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Molly, Tooey, and Trini are horrified when they realize that their sluice box was blocking the salmon.
- Prospector: In the bunkhouse, the trio finds a book about the gold rush in Alaska, as well as a pan. They assume that the people who left it there were trying to find gold.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: Downplayed. Molly, Tooey, and Trini want to take a lot of gold from the land so they can provide for their families. Molly was hesitant at first, as she knows that Grandpa Nat told her not to take too much stuff from the land, but was pressured into it by Tooey. Eventually, their sluice box ended up blocking the salmon from the creek, interfering with Nina's salmon counting project.
- Written by the Winners: Grandpa Nat tells the kids that the Alaskan Gold Rush book is a load of revisionist history BS since it left out the important part - that indigenous people were kicked off their land by gold prospectors.
