Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury - Episode Twenty-Four: May All Blessings Find Their Way To You, I'm Wishing It (目一杯の祝福を君に; Meippai no Shukufuku wo Kimi ni)

    Synopsis

With their super-weapon requiring time to recharge before firing another blast, the Space Assembly League sorties mobile suits to attack Quiet Zero. In a panic seeing the damaged Aerial, Suletta attempts to communicate with Ericht, before being overcome by Calibarn's data storm, passing out as her friends call out to her. Brought back aboard Earth House's ship, Suletta wakes up and immediately wishes to try reaching Ericht again, despite suffering lingering heat damage from the data storm. Aboard Quiet Zero, Miorine and her group are captured by Godoy and a security force. From his shuttle, Guston tries to dissuade the League chairman from further attacks, but his pleas fall on deaf ears.

Suletta's attempts to wake Ericht continue to fail, leading Ojelo and Nuno to suggest syncing Aerial's controls to Calibarn. Leaving the ship along with Guel, Suletta encounters the Space Assembly League mobile suit forces en-route to Quiet Zero, a squad of Jeturk mobile suits moving to intercept them. However, the Assembly League fleet captain orders her troops not to engage in combat, having received no explicit orders to do so. Arriving in Quiet Zero's command room, Suletta is told by Prospera that Ericht can be awoken by restoring her connection to Quiet Zero. Suletta refuses despite her mother's goading and her own desire to save Ericht, deciding to forge the connection herself to prevent Prospera from resuming her plans.

When Suletta is nearly overwhelmed by attempting to link with Quiet Zero, the spirit of the Fourth Elan Ceres Enhanced Person appears to her, revealing his genetic information was archived within Quiet Zero, rendering him an existence similar to Ericht. With Elan #4 helping her weather the data storm, Suletta is able to awaken Ericht, who is at last swayed by her resolve. Uniting Aerial's GUND-Bits with Calibarn, the sisters together transcend to an even higher Permet Score, overriding all communication equipment across the Earth Sphere, allowing Miorine to announce the dissolution and liquidation of the Benerit Group, the result of the deal she'd made with Shaddiq in return for his full confession. When the League chairman attempts to destroy Quiet Zero regardless, Suletta overrides the Pharact and Schwarzette, using the combined power of the four Gundams to shut the League super-weapon down.

Within the data storm, Prospera sees a vision of her loved ones from Vanadis, bidding her to return home to her children. Voicing her feelings of survivor's guilt, Suletta then appears to her mother, saying she's proud of her and supports her choice to put Ericht's future before her desire for revenge. Ericht joins them, telling their mother she wishes to remain with her and Suletta; embracing Eri, Prospera tearfully apologizes to her daughters. Quiet Zero and the Gundams begin to disintegrate into Permet particles, leaving Suletta floating alone in space, where she is found by Miorine. At first believing her fiancée to have perished, Miorine breaks down sobbing before Suletta is stirred by their helmets butting against one another.

Three years later, Nika is released from prison, most of her friends from Earth House there to greet her; Chuchu is occupied with work, doing Front maintenance alongside Rouji. On Earth, Elan #5 searches for the lake Norea drew in her sketchbook, while elsewhere Miorine meets with Shaddiq in prison prior to his trial before departing for Quinharbor to meet with protestors, accompanied by Shaddiq's former entourage; Ericht joins her as well, having come to inhabit Suletta's Hots keychain. Ending a call with Petra and Lauda about her upcoming testing for GUND prosthetics, Guel meets with Elan and Secelia about a new business venture.

After meeting with the protestors, Miorine drives out into the countryside where Suletta and Prospera are recovering. Sitting down with her wife on the hillside, Suletta discusses her progress, and an idea to create a school in the area, finding both she and her mother like living there. Ericht scoffs at the idea of living in the countryside, and Miorine in turn questions her very existence; Ericht credits her survival to Suletta. The entirety of Earth House arrive as well, beckoning Suletta and Miorine to join them for dinner.

This is where the story concludes... "the Witch from Mercury"

May All Blessings Find Their Way To You, I'm Wishing It provides examples of:

  • All for Nothing: After spending the entire series betraying everyone and latching onto the highest bidders in an attempt to maintain their profits, the Peil CEOs end up losing all of their stocks and assets when Miorine dissolves the Beneritt Group.
  • All Your Powers Combined: In order to stop the Space Assembly League, Suletta and Ericht combine the unfiltered power of the Calibarn with the support of the Children of the Coven to take control of communications across the Earth Sphere. Later, they also override the Pharact and Schwarzette to, alongside the Aerial, create such a powerful Data Storm signal that it reaches all the way from Lagrange 4 to the satellite station near the moon to shut down the imminent attack.
  • Attack Drone: Suletta, in the Calibarn, ends up turning both the Pharact and the Schwarzette into glorified bit staves in order to expand the area of the Data Storm and stop the Space Assembly League's Wave-Motion Gun from firing.
  • Back for the Finale:
    • When entering Quiet Zero's Data Storm, Suletta sees Elan #4, who explains how he was able to appear to her, and helps her manage the massive data influx.
    • Olcott and Naji discuss what they can do now with the dissolution of the Benerit Group and exposure of Shaddiq and Grassley's crimes.
    • Sophie and Norea briefly appear as Permet apparitions, Elan #5 seeing them through the shuttle's window.
    • Cardo Nabo, Nadim Samaya, Wendy Olent and Nyla Bertran, all of whom were last seen in the Prologue, return in Prospera's vision, asking her to return to a peaceful life with Suletta and Ericht.
  • Call-Back:
    • When Suletta meets him in the Data Storm, Elan #4 mentions dueling her, stating he doesn't regret it despite his subsequent death, but apologizes for not being able to meet her after that per her stake.
    • When Suletta transmits Miorine's statement to the entire Earth Sphere, the SAL leader orders it cut, but is told that they can't. Just like Rajan trying to cut Nadim's final words in the prologue, but not being able to.
    • Similar to the end of Episode 18, Suletta is left floating in space. However, instead of being abandoned in space with just a rescue beacon, Suletta has Eri at her side, who redeems herself in this scenario by acting as the rescue light to ensure her little sister is found.
    • Miorine desperately reaching out to save Suletta after the dissolution of Quiet Zero and the Gundams plays out much like a reversal of their first meeting, including the headbutt. Ironically, this time the headbutt is accidental, and it is what wakes Suletta up.
    • During the "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue, Elan #5 roams the world in search of the lake Norea drew, having first seen it in Episode 19.
    • The Episode ends with a callback to Episodes 12 and 22 where instead of Suletta reaching for Miorine, it is Miorine who is reaching for Suletta's hand.
  • Cyborg: In the epilogue, Petra is shown now having prosthetic legs, and is scheduled to test more advanced GUND prosthetics soon. Additionally, Miorine appears to have installed some kind of communications device in the back of her and Suletta's skulls, allowing them to communicate with Ericht.
  • Dented Iron: Though Suletta does survive a data storm that would have destroyed any other person in seconds, it's shown that she has likely-permanent facial scarring and uses crutches to walk even years later (it's suggested that she spent much of that time regaining her mobility).
  • Do Not Adjust Your Set: Suletta uses Calibarn combined with Aerial's GUND-Bits to override communication channels throughout the entirety of the Earth Sphere, allowing Miorine to publicly declare the Benerit Group's dissolution. The Assembly League's leadership tries in vain to shut off the broadcast, only to find out they can't even change channels.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: For all of the remaining heroes. While acknowledging that certain Spacians will likely try to exploit Earth for their own ends again, they have faith that they can move forward to make their world better. This is especially true for Suletta and Miorine, the former of whom has achieved her goal of living a happy life with her mother, sister and wife, while the latter has the courage to face her future with Suletta and her friends by her side.
  • Everybody Lives: The final episodes of this series ultimately end with the entire main and supporting cast alive and well, albeit with some lasting after-effects. Even Eri -someone who seemed doomed to disappear- gets to live on in some capacity.
  • Everything's Better with Rainbows:
    • Suletta and Ericht combining their powers to ascend to a Permet Score even higher than 8 and spreading a data storm throughout the Earth Sphere is marked by it glowing with a rainbow radiance.
    • The closing credits are colored with a distinctive rainbow hue.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: In the epilogue, many characters have changed their hair styles in the time that has passed. Nika's hair is now much shorter after her time in prison, Miorine has cut the back of her hair up past the neck, the Peil CEO's no longer cover up their heads, and Suletta is no longer using her mother's hairband.
  • Feigning Healthiness: As it turns out, Prospera's own use of the GUND technology to communicate with Eri has been taking a toll on her, and she's on the verge of losing the use of her legs. She's using a wheelchair in the "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: As with other background text in the show, Elan's letter of resignation is fully readable. It says, "Thanks for everything. I'm sick of all of you and I'm quitting Peil. Best wishes."
  • Ghost Reunion Ending: Quiet Zero, with its data storm at maximum power, manifests Virtual Ghosts of everyone who'd died after prolonged use of the GUND Format. Elan #4 lends his support to Suletta to endure Calibarn's data storm, Nadim and the rest of the Vanadis researchers appear to Prospera to absolve her of her need for vengeance, and even Sophie and Norea make an appearance together.
  • Grand Finale: The final episode of "Mobile Suit Gundam: the Witch from Mercury", ending the series at 25 episodes.
  • Happily Married: Suletta and Miorine have married by the time of the epilogue, both wearing wedding rings, and Ericht referring to herself as Miorine's sister-in-law.
  • Hazy-Feel Turn: The original Elan is still an asshole, but he is utilizing his talents to help Guel rebuild his family's company. He also seems to enjoy working with Guel a lot more than he did for the Peil executives.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: While she doesn’t die, Suletta comes close to when she pushes her body past Permet Score 8 to end Quiet Zero and the threat from the Space Assembly League. She is left scarred and crippled, but the epilogue indicates that she is recovering.
  • Heroic RRoD: Suletta pushing Calibarn's Permet Score to higher levels to save everyone utterly ravages her body. Three years later, she still bears burn scars from the data storm and is just now starting to walk without crutches.
  • Heroic Willpower: Suletta's own inner strength is how she is able to perform numerous feats that leave even Prospera stunned. Not only is she able to synchronize with Quiet Zero in order to save Eri, but she is also then able to raise the Calibarn's Permet Score higher than even Eight, allowing her to control the remaining Gundams to cause a data storm powerful enough to disable the Space Assembly League's orbital laser. Finally, when the Gundams begin dissolving into Permet Particles, Suletta is able to transmit Eri's consciousness into her Hot keychain, saving her sister's life, a feat Eri directly says could only have been done by Suletta.
  • How Is That Even Possible?: Not even Eri can explain how Suletta was able to draw her into the Hots keychain, a trinket from Asticassia's student store that was never shown to have any electronics.
  • I Regret Nothing: When Suletta apologizes to Elan #4 for inadvertently getting him killed, he tells her that he doesn't regret dueling her, only that he never got to meet up with her again afterwards.
  • Irony:
    • At the beginning of Season Two, Jeturk was on the verge of collapsing. Now Peil and Grassley have been dissolved by Miorine along with the Benerit Group, their assets sold off, and Peil's former CEOs are forced into retirement while Grassley's executives are facing hearings and trials. Meanwhile, having partnered with the original Elan and Secelia, Guel is able to start rebuilding his company as the new benefactor of Asticassia.
    • Miorine had constantly stated her desire to runaway to Earth. Like in Episode 19, Miorine has made it to Earth, but for the purpose of bridging the divide between Earth and Space, facing her problems rather than running away from them. And now, unlike before, Miorine is happily living with her new family and making a real difference, supported by her wife and friends.
  • It Is Not Your Time: What the spirits of Prospera's loved ones from Vanadis tell her, urging her to remain with her daughters.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: The Peil CEOs finally get screwed over via losing all of their stocks and assets. This happens after the four of them spent the entire series backstabbing and betraying anyone and everyone they associated themselves with. And just to rub it in, Elan takes their Opportunistic Bastard schtick and throws it right back at them by ditching them for greener pastures.
  • My Friends... and Zoidberg: When Miorine sees the rest of the Quiet Zero insertion team have been captured by Godoy and Prospera's other minions, she cries out Nika's and Chuchu's names. This prompts Martin to lean into the frame.
Martin: I'm here too, you know!
  • Mythology Gag:
    • The ultimate Permet Score power move disables the Space Assembly League's superweapon and overrides all communication systems across the Earth Sphere, allowing Miorine to make a public announcement, similar to a feat performed by the Crystalized Unicorn Gundam.
    • Cardo Nabo and the Vanadis crew appear to Prospera inside the Data Storm, in a similar phenomenon to the Newtype ghosts of Amuro, Lalah, Char and Rita appearing a few times throughout the Universal Century.
    • Quiet Zero and all of the Gundams sublimate into Permet particles from the extreme Permet levels, which is similar to how anything caught in the range of the Turn A's Moonlight Butterfly would disintegrate into light.
    • When Suletta is found drifting in space in the aftermath of the Final Battle, the pose made by the former and the Demi Barding is reminiscent of the finale of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, when Cagalli and Athrun manage to find Kira and the wrecked Freedom drifting in space.
    • Elan #5 ends up Walking the Earth in the finale, not unlike what Allelujah Haptism and Marie Parfacy were doing in the ending of Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Elan's even shown wearing a similar jacket and backpack as the former.
    • The final shot of the series is notably similar to that of After War Gundam X, with the two main characters, now as a couple, looking into the sunset, with a former Big Bad, now wheelchair-bound, being next to them.
    • Like Shiro Amada, Suletta's body is crippled (although she doesn't lose any limbs), forcing her to require crutches to walk for a time, and she's in a rural area when Miorine sees her again.
  • Obnoxious In-Laws: Eri appears to revel in playing this role with Miorine who only seems mildly annoyed by Eri's antics, though she does make a not-so-favorable comparison to her mother's behavior.
  • Redemption Equals Affliction: Eri and the apparitions of the Vanadis Institute ultimately convince Prospera she doesn't need to create a new world for the former or avenge the latter. Shaddiq gets her off the hook legally, but her overuse of GUND through her visor renders Prospera paraplegic. Three years later, she seems to share none of Suletta's recovery, nor has she gotten prosthetics.
  • Reduced to Dust: Quiet Zero, Pharact, Schwarzette, Aerial, and Calibarn all end up disintegrating down to particle level after Suletta and Eri disable the Space Assembly League's laser. Suletta is left floating in space as a result.
  • Rescue Romance: With the help of Chuchu, Miorine is able to save Suletta as she is floating in space after they notice the light signal that Eri is giving off. After the time skip, it is shown that they are Happily Married.
  • Rule of Funny: Eri is transferred from Aerial to another inanimate object. Purely for the sake of visual amusement, her new body ends up being a keychain, the implausibility of which Miorine points out.
  • Scars Are Forever: Three years later, Suletta still has noticeable Permet burn scars on her face.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: The original Elan quits Peil as their plans fall apart around them, citing a better offer having come along (his clear disillusionment with their plotting may have also played a part).
  • Space Is Noisy: Noticeably Averted in one scene. After the dissolution of Quiet Zero and the remaining Gundams, Suletta is left floating in space all alone in complete silence. When Miorine arrives to rescue her fiancée, her cries can't be heard; it's only when Suletta regains consciousness and speaks to Miorine that the audience is able to hear sounds again.
  • Take a Third Option: Rather than simply giving in to her mother and reconnecting what was left of Ericht/Aerial to Quiet Zero, or directly continuing her struggle against Prospera (who at that point had her friends at gunpoint), Suletta decides to take on the connection to Quiet Zero herself.
  • Take This Job and Shove It: The real Elan ultimately ditches Peil following the Space Assembly League's failure against Quiet Zero, sick of being leashed to the Peil Grade, completing the CEOs' humiliation after Miorine dissolved their company and sold off their assets. He also makes sure his disdain for them is clear in his resignation letter.
  • Tears of Joy: When Miorine finds Suletta floating alone in space, she initially believes that she's dead, and her eyes begin to water heavily. The tears of despair quickly change to those of joy when Suletta regains conciousness.
  • Titled After the Song: The episode title is taken from the last line of the first season's opening theme, "The Blessing", and refers to Eri's wish for Suletta's happiness despite her cursed fate.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Godoy and Kenanji are not seen after Quiet Zero is destroyed. The former leaves it an open question if Shaddiq's taking the blame for Quiet Zero exonerated any Shin Sei members besides Prospera—or if they were apprehended in the first place.
  • When She Smiles: During her final interactions with Suletta, Miorine is consistently seen smiling. She showcases the happiest smile she's ever had in the series as she helps her wife stand up.
  • "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue: The episode ends with an epilogue set three years after the battle at Quiet Zero:
    • Nika leaves jail after serving a sentence for her complicity in Shaddiq's crimes, her friends from Earth House there to greet her.
    • Chuchu is doing maintenance work in space alongside Rouji.
    • Elan #5 is traveling around the world in search of the lake Norea drew, expressing his annoyance she didn't leave any hint as to its actual location.
    • Shaddiq is in prison awaiting another trial, revealing that in addition to his own crimes, he took on the role of a scapegoat for Quiet Zero as well.
    • Belmeria and Guston Parche visit a tombstone, implied to be Feng Jun's.
    • Delling and Sarius are dealing with the bureaucratic fallout of the Benerit Group saga, shown in a news report attending a hearing.
    • The four CEOs of Peil are in retirement and spend their days grumbling from their defeat.
    • Ericht has somehow come to inhabit Suletta's Hots keychain, traveling with Miorine and fully capable of speech.
    • Petra, having lost her legs in the attack on Asticassia, is on the short-list to be tested for GUND prosthetics, with Lauda remaining at her side.
    • Guel, still CEO of Jeturk Heavy Machinery, meets with Elan and Secelia about a new business venture, having previously collaborated with them to rebuild Asticassia.
    • Various members of Jeturk House are part of the staff assisting in the ongoing reconstruction of Asticassia.
    • Shaddiq's former teammates from Grassley House now work as Miorine's entourage.
    • Suletta and Prospera are recovering from lasting injuries due to their exposure to data storms in the countryside. Suletta and Miorine officially married at some point in the past three years.
