     Elektra Assassin
Recruit: Elektra

Daredevil is assigned by Nick Fury to investigate reports that Elektra is going on a rampage in Hell's Kitchen.

This event happens early into Ultimus' invasion (likely early in the Heroes Assemble campaign), since STRIKE hasn't been fully formed and the existence of the Corrupted isn't common knowledge yet.

  • Clear My Name: Elektra understandably doesn't appreciate an imposter going around pretending to be her.
  • Clear Their Name: Daredevil doesn't think Elektra is actually going on a rampage, but wants to be sure one way or another.
  • Evil Is One Big, Happy Family: Elektra is surprised to see that (as her doppelganger puts it) "The Hand, the Fist, and the Devil fight for a new leader now."
  • Evil Me Scares Me: Scared isn't quite the way to put it, but Elektra is put out by the idea of an evil doppelganger.
    • When he learns that everything that's happened was caused by a corrupted version of himself, Daredevil is determined to stop his evil counterpart.
  • The Unfettered: Daredevil's corrupted counterpart sneers that deep down, Daredevil knows what he's done (i.e. taken over the Hand for his own purposes) is right but his conscience got in the way.
    • Becomes Hilarious in Hindsight much later when it's implied the events of the Shadowland storyline occured off-panel, and that Daredevil did take over the Hand.
  • You Are Too Late: Elektra and Daredevil rush to warn Nobu about the imposters, but when they arrive they learn he's already been replaced by one of his counterparts.

     Double-Crossed
Recruit: Crossbones

Crossbones, one of Hydra's most loyal agents, discovers that the organisation has been compromised by imposters from alternate universes.

This event takes place early into Ultimus' invasion (likely early in the Heroes Assemble campaign), due to the existence of the Corrupted not being common knowledge yet, making it plausible that they can infiltrate organisations like Hydra by replacing key personnel.

  • Enemy Mine: Nobody really wants Crossbones on STRIKE's side, but due to confusion caused by the existence of many alternate versions making infiltration possible, STRIKE can't afford to be picky.
  • Not in This for Your Revolution: Crossbones doesn't really care about STRIKE's battle to stop Ultimus' invasion. He only cares that Ultimus and his corrupted followers infiltrated Hydra and made a fool of him.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Crossbones. He's furious when he finds out he's been fooled into doing Ultimus' bidding via a corrupted Red Skull.

     The Mad Titan
Recruit: Thanos

  • Batman Gambit: Ultimus knew that Thanos would be unable to resist gaining more power for himself, and so easily tricked him into the Conversion Engine.

     I am Iron Man
Recruit: Iron Man (Legendary)

     Space Ace
Recruit: Star-Lord (Legendary)

     Chasing Fury
Recruit: Nick Fury (Legendary)

Nick Fury, leader of SHIELD and STRIKE, has gone missing after going to investigate the state of the Kree Empire in the wake of Ultimus' invasion. Nexus Ronan, who'd requested Fury to investigate, dispatches a group of Kree to go in search of him.

  • The Alcatraz: The prison on planet Berhert, where Nick Fury, Nexus Ultimus and scientist Zara-Lar (the only one who can bring the Supreme Intelligence back online) are all imprisoned.
  • Alternate Self: The Kree team encounter Ultimus's Nexus Counterpart, who agrees to help them fight their way to Nick Fury's cell.
  • Back from the Dead: STRIKE manages to reconstitute the Supreme Intelligence, opening another front in the war against Ultimus.
  • A Day in the Limelight: This is the only event to outright star Minions characters (specifically the Kree Noble, Kree Cyborg, Kree Oracle, Kree Royal Guard and Kree Reaper).
  • Decapitated Army: STRIKE learns the reason the Kree Imperium hasn't taken action against Ultimus is because he launched a surprise attack that eliminated the Kree Supreme Intelligence, the living supercomputer that leads the Kree.
  • Great Escape: The Kree team have to bust Nick Fury out of Ultimus's maximum security prison.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Some of the Kree team resent the Kree Noble's attempts to exert her authority over them, but agree to do as she says simply because they don't have better ideas themselves.
  • Why Don't You Just Shoot Him?: It's explained that the reason Ultimus doesn't just have Nick Fury killed after his capture is because he intends to subject him to the Conversion Engine. Part of the reason the Kree team are forced to launch an unplanned and desperate attack on the prison on planet Berhert: there's only a short window of opportunity.

     Asteroid M
Recruit: Magneto (Legendary)

Magneto contacts STRIKE informing them that someone has seized control of his asteroid base Asteroid M, likely at Ultimus' command. The X-Men agree to aid him and the Brotherhood in tracking the missing Asteroid M down, fearing what might happen with it in Ultimus' hands.

  • All Your Base Are Belong to Us: Magneto is especially furious that Ultimus' forces managed to steal his asteroid fortress.
  • Colony Drop: What Ultimus' forces intend to do with Asteroid M.
  • Enemy Mine: Magneto promises to work with STRIKE for the duration of Ultimus' invasion if they help him recover Asteroid M. Despite their animosity, the X-Men agree to help.

     Princess and the Symbiote
Recruit: Shuri (Legendary)

     Phoenix Rising
Recruit: Phoenix (Legendary)

     Now You See Me
Recruit: Invisible Woman (Legendary)

  • Arc Villain: Spider-Supreme plays this role.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Invisible Woman isn't happy over having to work with the Sinister Six.
    • The Sinister Six meanwhile dislike each other almost as much as they hate Spider-Man.
  • Tranquil Fury: When Norman Osborne insults Mr Fantastic's design philosophy, Invisible Woman calmly reminds him that she could, at any point she chooses, flatten him with a thought. She also stresses that Norman isn't as irreplacable as he thinks he is, since she could easily lead the Sinister Six herself. Norman wisely gets the message and shuts up.

     Unite The Kingdoms
Recruit: Black Bolt (Legendary)

     Black & Ebony
Recruit: Ebony Maw (Legendary)

In an attempt to fight off Doctor Doom's forces, Ebony approaches STRIKE with a plan to track down the Infinity Stones.

  • I Knew It!: No one is particularly surprised when Ebony Maw reveals he was helping the Inhumans gather the Infinity Stones in order to turn them over to Thanos.
  • A Taste of Power: The 6th battle has the player controlling Thanos and the Black Order, granting Thanos his Empowered form where he wields the Infinity Gauntlet.
  • Villainous Rescue: In the 1st battle, Ebony Maw arrives to aid the beleaguered Inhumans.

     Surgical STRIKE
Recruit: Doctor Octopus

  • Oh, Crap!: X-Force's response when they learn that Doctor Doom has retrofitted an Ultron factory to produce Adamantium Doombots. The facility's destruction becomes their number one priority.
  • Evil vs. Evil: In the last two battles, X-Force fights to keep an Ultron factory equipped to build Adamantium robots out of both Doctor Doom and Ultron's hands.
  • Mecha-Mook: X-Force discovers that an Ultron facility has been retrofitted to build Doombots made of Adamantium, and immediately head to destroy it.
  • Smug Snake: Doctor Octopus may be a genius, but he has no business trying to run a covert operation. It's made painfully clear that Cable merely humours him.

     Like, Totally Jubilee
Recruit: Jubilee (Legendary)

     The Infinity Watch
Recruit: Adam Warlock (Legendary)

     The Blade of Muramasa
Recruit: Silver Samurai

While investigating reports of a dimensional breach (and to get Shatterstar out of the Helicarrier before someone murdered him), X-Factor is ambushed by an alternate Weapon X team. Quickly defeated and enslaved by the Muramasa Blade, Multiple Man manages to send a dupe back to STRIKE to warn them. Wolverine decides that to counter Weapon X and his team, they need to reunited his old team, starting with the Silver Samurai.

  • An Aesop: Wolverine tells Silver Samurai that being a lone wolf can only take someone so far, and that a team can help draw out even greater strength.
  • Big Damn Heroes: As Silver Samurai is on his last legs after fighting off Weapon X's brainwashed followers, Wolverine arrives to back him up.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: What happens to those struck by the Muramasa Blade.
  • Demonic Possession: After using his own Muramasa Blade to destroy the one wielded by Weapon X, Silver Samurai worryingly tells Wolverine that he sensed something when the blades clashed. Something powerful was strengthening the other Black Blade, and so Silver Samurai agrees to join STRIKE in order to be ready in case whatever entity was doing so reemerges.
  • Evil Counterpart: Weapon X to Wolverine. Also Weapon X Silver Samurai to Silver Samurai.
  • Getting The Band Back Together: Wolverine attempts to reunite his Weapon X team to counter the alternate Weapon X. He only manages to get Silver Samurai and Lady Deathstrike to join him before Weapon X finds them first.
  • Heroic Willpower: "Heroic" isn't exactly the term to use when describing Silver Samurai, but his iron will is at least part of the reason he alone is able to resist the Black Blade. Weapon X observes that it took a long time for the Muramase Blade to corrupt his Silver Samurai.
  • Honor Before Reason: While fighting Weapon X Sabretooth's brainwashed goons, Wolverine urges Silver Samurai to pursue him. Silver Samurai angrily asks if Wolverine is telling him to run, to which Wolverine tells him to not think of it as running from a fight, but leaving him to die. Silver Samurai laughs and admits the thought helps, and departs.
  • I Have Many Names: The Muramasa Blade is also referred to as "a black blade of Muramasa" or "the Black Blade".
  • Just You and Me and My GUARDS!: During their confrontation in Madripoor, Weapon X Sabretooth sics groups of brainwashed mutants on Wolverine and Silver Samurai.
  • The Lancer: Weapon X Sabretooth acts as one to Weapon X.
  • Last-Name Basis: Wolverine is addressed as "Logan" by Silver Samurai and Lady Deathstrike. Silver Samurai is likewise addressed as "Harada" by Wolverine and Lady Deathstrike. However, Lady Deathstrike is addressed as "Yuriko".
  • Sorting Algorithm of Evil: Silver Samurai dismisses the Hand as nothing compared to the danger of the Muramasa Blade, until Wolverine explains the reason they're going after the Hand is to recruit Lady Deathstrike.
  • Spirited Competitor: Polaris explains to Multiple Man the only reason Nick Fury sent X-Factor to
  • Take a Number: Wolverine's response to Silver Samurai expressing his amusement that Lady Deathstrike hates him as much as he does is a weary, "Yeah, yeah, get in line..."
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Wolverine hates having to call in the Silver Samurai (and the feeling is mutual), but both agree that the Black Blade must be destroyed no matter what.
  • Tsundere: After defeating Weapon X and begrudgingly thanking Wolverine for helping him, Silver Samurai decides to stick around, as Wolverine is too soft and naive to prepare for whatever empowered the alternate Black Blade.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Weapon X Silver Samurai doesn't appear after his initial arrival alongside the rest of Weapon X, despite Weapon X himself commenting on his willpower during his confrontation with STRIKE Silver Samurai.
    • Likewise, Wolverine apparently loses interest in tracking down Sabretooth when Silver Samurai's pursuit of Weapon X Sabretooth leads him right to the Muramasa Blade.
    • Wolverine asks Lady Deathstrike to track down Weapon X and his team, but she doesn't show up at all for the final clash with him.
  • Wretched Hive: Madripoor, where Wolverine and Silver Samurai go looking for Sabretooth.
