Written By Mick Betancourt

Directed By Peter Leto

An exotic bird found dead in the bag of a viciously murdered woman leads to Stabler putting his marriage on the line to go undercover in an animal smuggling ring.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Angsty Surviving Twin: Anna Bleers is naturally devastated at Natalie's murder.
  • Black Bra and Panties: Olivia's wearing them this episode.
  • Cats Are Mean: Discussed. Aside from the tiger that almost got Elliot (and the one that was used to kill a victim), when Fin is questioning the rapper "Gots Money", he points out that he only considers turtles as pets, and probably a damned cat (but certainly not a tiger).
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: One man got eaten offscreen by hyenas after crossing Andre Bushido.
  • Dirty Harriet: When Elliot goes dark on an undercover mission, Olivia goes to him. When Elliot's marks arrive at the scene, Olivia pretends as a hooker he hired so his cover won't be blown.
  • Enemy to All Living Things: The Villain of the Week is a notorious animal smuggler.
  • Exotic Entree: Andre Bushido has an animal smuggling ring, whose members eat several of the animals. At one point, he and Elliot chow down on the meat of a tiger.
  • Fanservice: Elliot and Olivia both appear in their underwear. And for the delight of the audience (especially Elliot and Olivia shippers), it's on the same scene.
    • Shirtless Elliot in the ER in the cold open, though it's more on the Fan Disservice side given he had just been shot.
  • How We Got Here: The episode begins with Elliot being taken to a hospital after he was shot. After the opening credits, we jump back a week before that to see how things lead to that.
  • I Ate WHAT?!: Elliot's priceless reaction to being told he is about to put a bite of tiger meat into his mouth.
  • Identical Twin Mistake: Elliot and Fin were confused when they saw their victim suddenly alive. Turns out it's her identical sister.
  • Killed Offscreen: After meeting Bushido, Gots Money was devoured by hyenas offscreen.
  • Lack of Empathy: Natalie Bleers' roommate didn't give two shits after Fin and Elliot tells her that she was murdered. her first reaction was to ask if that means she can have the stuff she left in their apartment. Likewise, Gots Money only sees Natalie as a booty call.
  • Shout-Out: Gots Money is a big fan of Scarface (1983).
  • This Cannot Be!: Fin and Elliot are stunned when they see a woman who looks a lot like the Victim of the Week. Turns out the two are twin sisters.
  • Undercover Cop Reveal: Turns out Victor Tybor, The Dragon of the Villain of the Week, is an FBI Agent who's on to Bushido.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Bushido when he gets caught, hurling death threats at Elliot.
