Poison Ivy sees a news story about the mayor's plan to develop some open land. She does not approve, and (with Harley in tow) decides to persuade the mayor to cancel the project.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Affably Evil: While she's ordinarily the opposite Ivy hews closer to this trope here. Her actions are far less harsh than you'd typically expect from her. She even spares Mayor Hill's guards!
  • Crazy-Prepared: Ivy's well aware that she's dealing with a politician, so she takes certain steps to ensure he won't go back on his promise via her use of the Pinocchio Nose trope.
  • Drugged Lipstick: How Poison Ivy incapacitates Hill's guards. Judging by their satisfied grins, she approached them the way you'd expect Ivy to. All in all, not the lousiest way to be knocked out.
Mayor Hill: Ahh! Security! Help! Help! Help!
Poison Ivy: I gave them all a little goodnight kiss. Mwah! Mwah!
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Harley replaces the bags of grass seed at the mayor's mansion with bags clearly labeled "Ivy's Overnight Seeding Formula". The landscape worker doesn't notice.
  • Fanservice: Poison Ivy's sexy, playful posing on the mayoral bedsheets.
  • Goofy Print Underwear: The mayor wears Batman pajamas.
  • Lighter and Softer: Believe it or not, Poison Ivy herself in this episode. Sure, she threatens to have her giant tendrils crush Mayor Hill's mansion with him in it, but it's clearly just a scare tactic she never follows through with. After all, she was still inside the house! The worst she does is infect Hill with spores which force him to never lie again. Compared to her prior, more murderous schemes in the previous shows, this is a very tame form of retribution.
  • Lipstick Mark: The unconscious security guards have them on their cheeks, courtesy of Ivy.
  • Pet the Dog: Rather than murder Mayor Hill's security staff Ivy simply knocks them out. Based on their big grins she probably also went the extra mile of having some flirty fun with them, minus any of her normally homicidal intent concerning seduction.
  • Pinocchio Nose: Ivy hits the mayor with one of her special plant spores. It merges into his body and causes him to sprout plant growths when he lies.
  • Sleazy Politician: Apparently the plan is a direct violation of a campaign promise (at least, Ivy says so and the mayor doesn't dispute it).
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Ivy legitimately means well this time around, wanting to stop the mayor from bulldozing a city park simply because he swore he'd leave it alone in his campaign speech.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: This episode is clearly based on the first line of Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi": "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."
  • Worth It: Being knocked out by a dangerous, known murderess while she makes her way into your employer's home, potentially killing him, thus costing you your job? Acceptable so long as she's a smokin' hot redheaded bombshell who (likely) flirted with and then gave you a couple kisses on the cheek, leaving you to smile while sleeping peacefully.
