The New Directions are reintegrated to the show choir competition. Quinn and Santana visit Rachel in New York to advise her not to shoot a nude scene for a student film project. The glee club puts together a sexy calendar to raise funds for the bus to Regionals, and Finn has a major confrontation with Sue. Meanwhile, Marley and Jake try to tell each other what they really feel.

- Foreshadowing: Santana's comment about New York being more her speed is so obvious in its suggesting she's going to move there.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Brittany says that with Sam's freakishly low SAT score, his future prospects are pretty much limited to be a greeter at Abercrombie & Fitch. That was Naya Rivera's job before Glee.
- Ho Yay/Les Yay: The workout scenes, and anything involving Santana and Quinn - "Love Song" especially.
- Irony as She Is Cast: Quinn telling Rachel not to go topless in an indy film, in an episode called "Naked". We would like you to flash forward two years to a film called "Bare". Guess who goes topless? Well done.
- Lea Michele's (Rachel) Star-Making Role can be considered to be Spring Awakening, in which she goes topless.
- Shout-Out: When Brittany is listing off Ivy League and other good colleges, she instead calls Stanford "Stamford and Sons", like Mumford & Sons (not the one Quinn got into, though Dianna did) and U. Cal Berkeley "the University of California at Charles Barkley's house". This does suggest that she for some reason thinks that college is all about music and performance, which we'd easily blame on the fact that everyone at college who graduated last year is studying some form of performing artnote
- Scenery Censor: In the Bushwick kitchen for Brody's crotch. (see Visual Pun below)
- The Cameo: Dianna Agron as Quinn Fabray.
- Visual Pun: At first a box of "Rooster-O's" is used to hide Brody's crotch, and this is then replaced by a banana that Rachel is holding before proceeding to peel and eat in a suggestive manner.
