"Wrestling ain't about fighting - it's all strategy and tactics."
After the kids make fun of Double D for being weak, Eddy tries to whip him into shape with some exercise, with disappointing results. He eventually decides to make Double D a Pro-Wrestler, only for him and the other Eds to be challenged to a wrestling match by the Kanker Sisters.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Alternate Ending: Cartoon Network's website featured a game based on this episode called "Clash of the Idiots", where Edd as the Masked Mumbler faced Lee Kanker in a one-on-one wrestling match to get the Kankers to leave the Eds alone. The good ending of the game has Edd, and by extension the Eds, emerge victorious against Lee and the Kankers, unlike in this episode.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: The Eds lose their wrestling match to the Kankers and are completely humiliated in front of the neighborhood kids. Though downplayed slightly as even though they lost the match they still get to enjoy their cereal together like they wanted to, and they even managed to avoid being kissed by the Kankers for now.
  • Butt-Monkey:
    • Poor Edd. He humiliates himself due to his lackluster fitness skills and gets thrashed by the Kankers.
    • Eddy arguably gets it even worse in the match with the Kankers. While his friends are beaten quickly he is ganged up on by all three Kanker, used as an accordion, flipped like a pancake, tossed to the ground and landed on by Marie, and finally thrown against the ropes where he rebounds and his slammed by Lee.
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: Averted; both matches in this episode have the cheater win. Eddy deliberately cheats in Edd and Plank's "match" by having Edd sit on him and doing a rapid count, which Johnny is quick to call him out on. Later, the Kankers all gang up on Ed and Eddy during their match instead of fighting one at a time like the Eds, though it is doubtful fighting one on one would have given the Eds much of a chance anyway.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The Kankers easily defeat the Eds in their wrestling match. Edd never stood a chance against Marie, Ed refused to fight because his mom said he wasn't allowed to hit girls, and they all gang up on Eddy.
  • Drama-Preserving Handicap: Ed, the strongest of the Eds and probably strongest character in the show, could have probably beaten all the Kankers by himself, but unfortunately his mom says he can't fight girls, so he doesn't do anything in the match besides run circles around May for a few seconds before tagging Eddy in.
  • Ear Ache: When Eddy tries to run away from Lee during their fight, she is holding him in place by twisting his ear with her feet.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Eddy started the wrestling idea to try to make Double D look strong and then impulsively accepted Lee's challenge for the Eds to wrestle the Kankers. Both of these come back to bite him when Double D is easily beaten by Marie in the first match, and then he receives the worst beating of all the Eds when all the Kankers gang up on him.
  • Human Knot: The Kankers end their match with the Eds by tying them all into a knot and leaving them like that in the center of the ring.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Of all the kids making fun of Edd, Jimmy should be the dead last person laughing, being the same character who gets hurt on nearly an hourly basis, even by common everyday items that hardly touch him.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Eddy, with more "heart of gold" than "jerk". He tries to boost Edd's confidence and help him with his athletic insecurity, and tries to show his friend off to the other kids so they'll accept him, with no ulterior motives. He even does a great job of relating to Edd by explaining to him that wrestling "is a strategy game, like chess".
  • My God, What Have I Done?: When it becomes clear that Double D can't beat Marie, Eddy, who forced him into the fight in the first place, looks on in horror and mumbles that Double D's a goner.
  • Pro Wrestling Episode: The main gist of the plot.
  • Smooch of Victory: Inverted; after Marie easily defeats Double D she tries to kiss him. This makes it more like a "Take That!" Kiss, but she still calls it his "prize".
  • "Take That!" Kiss: After Marie beats and ties up Edd she puckers up and leans in to try to kiss him. He manages to crawl away from her, and she just laughs as he does, amused at his struggle. Later when Eddy is thrown into the ring, May suggests they kiss him too. Eddy also flees from them, and they chase him while telling him to come back. Subverted as despite their attempts, the Kankers do not kiss the Eds.
  • Terms of Endangerment: Marie calls Double D "Muffin" right before thrashing him in their match.
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl: Ed most likely could have handled all the Kankers by himself, shown as he could easily drag all three of them when they tried ganging up on him, but he refused to do any more in the match than running circles around May because his mom said he wasn't allowed to fight girls. Even at the end of the match when the Kankers are tying him and his friends into a Human Knot he just laughs and doesn't try to defend himself.
  • Vocal Evolution: Edd's voice becomes higher and more expressive here and stays that way for the rest of the series (with the exception of "Eds-Aggerate", which changes his voice back to the way it was before this episode for whatever reason).
