Dan wakes up in the morning to the shocking surprise of finding a dinosaur… destroy his car! In the meantime, Chris is trying to teach Elise’s brother how to drive. Dan convinces Chris to have him ferry them around town. Meanwhile, Elise has been sent on a special mission to make sure that nobody finds out about the dinosaur, and the whole story is covered up while she attempts to capture the beast.
This episode contains examples of the following Tropes:
- Angry Fist-Shake: Aside from the usual one from Dan at the beginning, we get one from the dinosaur when Dan gets his revenge by mailing her his car repair bill.
- Arbitrary Skepticism: Chris refuses to believe that Dan could have seen a real dinosaur, despite having previously encountered plenty of other equally weird entities over the course of the show.
- Blatant Lies: Elise, in cover identities as a geologist and an old lady, claim that the recent mini quakes and the incident at the museum were caused by tectonic activity and teenagers respectively. The television anchor interviewing her the two separate times seems skeptical of it.
- Continuity Nod: Possibly to "Dan Vs. The Family Thanksgiving", Ben mentions that his parents are house hunting, due to Dan burning it down at the end of the episode.
- Dirty Coward: Ben, defied later on in the story.
- Disney Death: Chris has one.
- Distaff Counterpart: Dan believes that the dinosaur is this to him.
- Everyone Has Standards: Dan can't bring himself to kill the dinosaur because he identifies with its laziness, gluttony, and misanthropy.
- "Fantastic Voyage" Plot: "Who wants to know where I've been?"
- Getting Eaten Is Harmless: For Chris specifically. He manages to exit the dinosaur the... normal way for matter to leave the body. Though any dogs may have been unfortunate...
- Gone Horribly Right: The dinosaur.
- Jerkass: Ben chickens out and doesn’t fire the third arrow at the dinosaur, which causes the dinosaur to eat Chris. However, he does make for it.
- Secret Ingredient: The secret ingredient to creating a dinosaur was corn syrup.
- Shout-Out: The government have a box that contains "someone who shouldn't exist, he's half spider, half man, and he fights crime."
- Skyward Scream: Done by Dan and the dinosaur at the end.
- Teens Are Monsters: When the dinosaur breaks into the museum, Elise tries to cover it up by saying that it was a pack of teenage hoodlums, despite the dinosaur shaped hole in the side of the building.
