Amazon Fury Part I is the tenth Episode in DC Universe Online which focuses on the Amazon invasion of Gotham. This Episode marks the introduction of Queen Hippolyta as well as mythical creatures such as Satyrs and Harpies. Amazon Fury is the second of a trilogy series of episodes.
Summary
In Brainiac's bid to digitize the multiverse, he created three avatars, each associated with a powerful Nexus of Technology, Meta, and Magic. It was the Avatar of Magic's creation on Themyscira outside the gates of Tartarus that has led to this moment. Furious at the attack on Paradise Island, Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, began silently planning a counterstrike. Holding the mortal world responsible for letting the infestation of Brainiac reach her shores, she decides the time for peace has passed and that the time of war and death has begun.Tropes
- Disproportionate Retribution: Hippolyta's justification for invading the mortal world. She believes that the invasion of Themyscira was due to their "cowardice," thus they must be punished. Episode briefings revealed that she doesn't intend to stop with Gotham.
- Foreshadowing: There are various hints that Hyppolyta's actions are not of herself. Circe even taunts the Villain players that she knows something they don't.
- How We Got Here: The Iconic Visions missions show the events that led to the Amazon invasion.
- My Master, Right or Wrong: General Ptolema states that no matter what, the correct side is Queen Hippolyta's.
- Not Me This Time: Circe may not be behind Hippolyta's Amazon invasion, but that won't stop her from taking advantage of it.
- Out-of-Character Moment: Wonder Woman mentions that for all of her distrust of the Mortal world, Hippolyta would never start an invasion over Brainiac's attack.
